Penulis juga menyentuh jenis-jenis perahu besar dan perahu kecil yang pupus, pernah digunakan dan yang masih lagi digunakan oleh penduduk di Terengganu amnya dan khususnya di Pulau Duyong. Bab tiga lebih menekankan kepada keistimewaan yang dimiliki oleh pertukangan dalam menghasilkan perahu, teknik yang digunakan seratus peratus masih lagi menggunakan teknik tradisional walaupun terdapat penggunssn peralatan yang menggunakan kuasa elektrik. Hasil kerja mereka menarik, halus dan teliti yang telah menarik ramai di kalangan rakyat asing datang ke Terengganu. Bab keempat pula melihat kepada dekorasi yang terdapat pada perahu. Bangau dan sangga merupakan dekorasi yang penting terdapat pada perahu seperti perahu Sekoci dan perahu Kolek. Bangau yang pada asasnya berperanan sebagai tempat letak pendayung telah berubah fungsi sebagai sesuatu yang mempunyai estetika keindahan. Bab lima, meninjau kepada permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pengusaha-pengusaha di Pulau ini dan cadangan daripada penulis untuk memantapkan lagi perusahaan ini pada masa hadapan. Faktor kemiskian amat penting kerana dapat menyedarkan para pembaca kajian ini terhadap punca masalah kemiskinan. Kecenderungan para pelajar di Universiti Malaya didapati mempunyai tanda-tanda positif dalam memperbaiki kemiskinan orang Melayu. Keinginan dan keyakinan mereka kelihatan meningkat demi mencapai kedudukan ekonomi yang lebih tinggi. Fenomena ini mungkin disebabkan pendidikan tinggi mereka di Universiti Malaya.
