Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengupas keberkesanan perisian buku-e sebagai alat TMK dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran (P&amp;P) terutama pengajaran kemahiran membaca bahasa Melayu dalam kalangan murid darjah 4 di Sekolah Rendah Punggol, Singapura. Perisian buku -e merupakan antara bahan TMK  yang telah dikenal pasti sebagai agen perangsang kerana mempunyai elemen-elemen multi media yang membantu murid mencapai tahap penguasaan dengan lebih optimum. Pada masa yang sama, menjadikan perisian buku-e sebagai bahan penyelesaian terhadap masalah pembacaan murid serta mengeksploitasi kecenderungan murid terhadap teknologi komputer untuk menarik minat mereka dalam aktiviti membaca. Sebelum melaksanakan kajian, kerangka konsepsi harus dilakarkan berdasarkan prinsip pembelajaran Behavioris, Kognitif dan Konstruktivis, dan prinsip model reka bentuk pengajaran Gagne dan ASSURE serta dengan model pembacaan Interaktif-Pengimbangian yang dirujuk melalui metode kepustakaan. Metode pembinaan bahan pula melibatkan siri pengujian bagi menyediakan perisian buku-e untuk digunakan semasa  sesi lapangan. Berdasarkan perbincangan dapatan, perisian buku-e yang dibina menepati tujuh ciri multimedia. Nilai-nilai min yang tinggi dalam perbincangan kuantitatif serta pandangan positif oleh pemerhati dalam perbincangan kualitatif mengesahkan perisian buku-e sebagai bahan yang berkesan. Penilaian ujian pra- dan pasca- pula jelas menunjukkan peningkatan yang dicapai murid-murid setelah melalui sesi menggunakan buku-e. Secara tuntas, perisian buku-e ini amat berkesan dan harus diintegrasikan dalam sistem pendidikan Singapura.</text>

Kajian yang dilakukan oleh pengkaji untuk mendalami perkara berkaitan pemahaman seseorang bomoh dan pawang dalam masyarakat Melayu tradisional berkenaan konsep alam ghaib atau alam mistik. Meskipun dunia telah moden dan masyarakat memiliki tahap keintelektualan yang tinggi namun kebanyakan benda mistik masih belum mampu dirungkai secara berkesan secara logik akal dan ilmu saintifik meskipun telah banyak kajian telah dilakukan oleh penyelidik dan pakar daripada kajian ilmiah.&#13;
	Kebanyakan masyarakat Melayu islam sama ada di bandar mahupun desa masih tetap berikhtiar menggunakan kaedah perubatan berkaitan  bomoh untuk mengubati penyakit bersifat dalaman, jiwa, emosi dan lain-lain. Hal ini disebabkan ilmu perubatan moden hanya mampu mengubati dan merawat secara fizikal kepada anggota badan manusia apabila menerima rawatan oleh doktor. Alam ghaib sememangnya wujud kerana diciptanya oleh-Nya dan dinyatakan dalam kitab al-quran.&#13;
	Institusi perbomohan terutama di alam Melayu sudah berdiri teguh dan sudah sebati dan mampu diterima sebagai norma kemasyarakatan  menerusi perantara  individu bergelar bomoh. Golongan ini merupakan individu yang sangat rapat dan berhubungan dengan alam ghaib secara terus mahupun tersembunyi. Tidak hairanlah mereka ini mendakwa mampu memasuki alam mistik dengan keizinan dan segala ilmu yang dimiliki oleh mereka.&#13;
	Bagi meneruskan kesinambungan dan misteri alam ghaib yang belum diterokai sepenuhnya maka kajian berkaitan ilmu pengasih telah dilakukan oleh pengajian bagi mengenal pasti sejauh mana bomoh itu telah berinteraksi secara dua hala dengan kuasa alam ghaib berserta koordinasi kepercayaan tradisi dan adat resam untuk mensakralkan kekuasaan dan keampuhan sesuatu ritual dalam agama malah ilmu pengasih seperti susuk, minyak dagu, nasi kangkang dan lain dikatakan bertentangan dengan norma islam.&#13;

Kajian ini berfokus pada aspek kesantunan leksikal yang terdapat dalam dialog filem Ombak Rindu (2010), iaitu dialog antara dua watak utama filem tersebut. Kajian dalam bidang pragmatik yang dilakukan ini akan mengenal pasti padanan leksikal dengan berpandukan Tesaurus Bahasa Melayu Dewan Edisi Baharu (2010) dan juga Tesaurus Bahasa Melayu Dewan Edisi Kedua (2011). Dengan menganalisis data leksikal dan dua padanan katanya, di samping memberikan fitur makna binari [+] dan [-], ketepatan pemilihan leksikal yang digunakan dalam dialog filem Ombak Rindu akan dapat diperlihatkan. Selain itu, kajian ini juga akan mengaplikasikan model Prinsip Kesantunan Leech(1983) berdasarkan keenam-enam maksim dalam model tersebut. Terdapat 310 data analisis yang telah dikategorikan berdasarkan 11 jenis pengkategorian kata leksikal. Dapatan analisis menunjukkan bahawa hasil pemadanan data leksikal analisis komponen makna bagi setiap data leksikal, ketepatan pemilihan leksikal dalam dialog filem Ombak Rindu telah dipengaruhi oleh empat faktor utama, iaitu konteks peristiwa, latar belakang watak, struktur suku kata dan kekerapan penggunaan sesuatu kata dalam komunikasi seharian. Faktor konteks peristiwa (100 peratus) dan latar belakang watak (100 peratus) merupakan faktor yang paling dominan dalam menentukan ketepatan leksikal dalam dialog filem manakala faktor struktur suku kata (44.4 peratus) merupakan faktor yang paling kurang dominan. Dapatan analisis turut menunjukkan bahawa 167 (53.9 peratus) data leksikal telah mematuhi Prinsip Kesantunan Leech (1983) manakala sebanyak 143 946.1 peratus) data leksikal didapati tidak mematuhi prinsip kesantunan tersebut. Maksim kebijaksanaan (46.8 peratus) merupakan maksim yang paling dominan berdasarkan konteks penggunaan leksikal dalam dialog filem Ombak Rindu.</text>

Aliran utama kajian adalah untuk menganalisis bidang ilmu retorik dalam teks khutbah. Sehubungan itu, korpus kajian adalah berdasarkan konteks khutbah-khutbah yang disampaikan khusus di negara Singapura sahaja. Sehubungan itu, penyelidikan ini juga dijalankan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis retorik tertentu yang wujud dalam wahana khutbah-khutbah karangan para guru agama dan cendekiawan Singapura. Kajian eksklusif ini juga akan meninjau dan memperlihatkan, kekuatan, perkembangan dan keunikan yang ada dalam khutbah-khutbah Jumaat di Singapura berpandukan dasar teori yang dikemukakan oleh Gary T.Hunt (1987) bagi sebahagian besar aspek retorik dan Za’ba (2002) bagi aspek ragam Bahasa.&#13;
	Bab 1 merupakan pengenalan awal, dan bahagian ini juga akan menyentuh tentang latar belakang penghasilan teks khutbah Jumaat di Singapura. Selain itu, kajian juga akan memperlihatkan kajian retorik terdahulu, kepentingannya metodologi, korpus dan juga teori kajian. Kajian akan mengikut konteks khutbah di negara Singapura keluaran Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).&#13;
	Bab 2 merupakan bahagian yang menyingkap  tentang definisi konsep. Konsep yang akan dibincangkan adalah konsep retorik, retorik pemujukan, ragam bahasa, pemilihan diksi dan khutbah.&#13;
	Bab 3 pula kan menyentuh tentang variasi strategi retorik pemujukan yang wujud dalam teks-teks khutbah Jumaat. Aspek teknik pemujukan yang dianalisis adalah ayat-ayat atau ungkapan yang mempunyai kekuatan dari aspek semantik sahaja. Di antara strategi yang dianalisis secara holistik adalah strategi pengukuhan dan seruan untuk bertindak. Menerusi kajian ini, pengkaji akan menilai keberkesanan penggunaan retorik pemujukan yang digunakan dalam komunikasi dengan khalayak sasaran, iaitu para jemaah di masjid-masjid Singapura.&#13;
	Bab 4 menumpukan kepada aspek kebahasaan yang wujud dalam 10 teks khutbah Jumaat pilihan. Aspek kebahasaan yang dimaksudkan adalah pemilihan diksi. Variasi aspek bahasa yang mewarnai teks khutbah in akan dianalisis secara holistik dan eksklusif. Bagi pemilihan diksi, aspek unsur kata pinjaman asing, keagamaan dan unsur kepuisian akan dianalisis secara terperinci.&#13;
	Bab seterusnya adalah bab yang ke-5, bahagian ini akan membincangkan dapatan kajian mengenai aspek ragam bahasa. Pengkaji juga hanya memfokuskan kepada tiga sahaja ragam bahasa, iaitu bahasa naik, bahasa berulang dan bahasa bukan.&#13;
	Bab 6, merupakan fasa perumusan semua dapatan kajian yang telah dibuat dalam keseluruhan bab. Setiap analisis memberikan hasil yang beraneka dan rencam berteraskan tajuk khutbah yang berbeza-beza. Dan pendekatan diyakini relevan dan mampu mengupas setiap persoalan untuk disesuaikan dengan korpus teks khutbah Jumaat di Singapura.</text>

Kajian ini cuba mengkaji tentang adat miring dalam masyarakat Iban di Sarawak.Upacara miring merupakan salah satu upacara ritual yang sangat penting dalam kalangan masyarakat Iban. Dalam penulisan ini, kajian cuba mengupas tentang beberapa aspek yang penting iaitu tentang kewujudan adat Miring, bagaimana ia dilakukan, siapa yang terlibat, untuk siapa penyembahan piring itu diberi dan tujuan adat Miring. Penulisan ini juga turut mengupas tentang mengapa masyarakat Iban menjadikan adat Miring ini sebagai satu adat yang penting dalam keseluruhan kehidupan mereka.&#13;
	Latihan ilmiah ini mengandungi enam bab. Bab pertama ialah bab pendahuluan yang menyentuh mengenai permasalahan kajian, objektif kajian, literature review dan kaedah kajian. Bab kedua pula menjelaskan tentang latar belakang masyarakat dan kawasan kajian. Dalam bab ketiga pula ialah membincangkan tentang kosmologi Iban iaitu ruang alam semesta dan kuasa luar biasa bagi masyarakat Iban. Bab keempat pula adalah mengenai upacara miring iaitu mengenai jenis piring, peralatan yang digunakan dalam upacara miring dan komponen-komponen yang berperanan penting sebelum dan semasa upacara miring itu dilakukan. Seterusnya bab kelima pula membincangkan tentang bagaimana upacara miring itu dilakukan di dalam setiap upacara ritual bagi masyarakat Iban. bab terakhir iaitu bab enam adalah bab perbincangan dan juga cadangan kajian  untuk pengkaji yang seterusnya.</text>

Kajian latihan ilmiah yang bertajuk “Saka dalam masyarakat Melayu Kerinci: Harimau jadian” ini adalah bertujuan untuk mendedahkan mengenai kewujudan saka yang menjadi kepercayaan sesetengah masyarakat Melayu terutamanya masyarakat Melayu Kerinci. Saka sering dilihat oleh masyarakat Melayu sebagai jin yang dipelihara dari zaman nenek moyang yang mempunyai fungsi-fungsi tertentu kepada kepada seorang individu, keluarga, masyarakat dan sebagainya. Selain itu, di dalam kajian ini juga akan turut menyentuh sedikit mengenai konsep saka dan juga jenis-jenis saka yang menjadi kepercayaan masyarakat Melayu. Walau bagaimanapun, kajian ini masih lagi menekankan mengenai saka harimau jadian dalam masyarakat Melayu Kerinci dan fungsinya terhadap masyarakat berkenaan. Melalui hasil kajian ini mendapati bahawa masih lagi terdapat masyarakat Melayu Kerinci yang masih lagi mempercayai serta memiliki saka harimau jadian ini. Justeru, kaedah kerja lapangan telah digunakan bagi mendapatkan maklumat yang dikehendaki. Melalui kaedah ini, beberapa orang informan telah ditemubual bagi mendapatkan maklumat ini. Selain itu, kajian kepustakaan juga turut digunakan sebagai bahan sokongan untuk kajian ini.</text>

Dalam masyarakat Melayu, unsur kesantunan semasa berkomunikasi amat dipentingkan. Budaya dan agama Islam merupakan antara pengaruh yang menjadikan masyarakat Melayu sebuah masyarakat yang mementingkan nilai kesantunan bahasa. Disebabkan ini, masyarakat Melayu mengamalkan pertuturan yang lemah lembut serta bersopan santun supaya tidak dianggap biadap atau tidak berbudi bahasa. Oleh yang demikian, kesantunan bahasa dapat mencerminkan tamadun sesebuah bangsa. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti dan menganalisis unsur-unsur kesantunan yang terdapat dalam iklan produk kecantikan dalam akhbar Harian Metro. Kajian akan tertumpu kepada aspek penggunaan kata nama diri dan unsur eufemisme dalam iklan. Sebanyak 35 sampel iklan telah dianalisis yang bertarikh 1 Mac 2014 sehingga 15 Mac 2014 dengan bertunjangkan Model Kesantunan oleh Asmah Hj. Omar (1995). Model ini mengemukakan dua prinsip iaitu kesopanan asas dan kesopanan kendala. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan unsur kesantunan masih terpelihara dalam iklan melalui penggunaan kata ganti nama diri yang sesuai dalam konteks iklan dan unsur eufemisme yang digunakan untuk menggantikan kata-kata yang dianggap tabu atau kurang sopan. Kajian ini dapat menyuntik keinginan para pengkaji atau pencinta bahasa selepas ini untuk membuat satu kajian yang komprehensif tentang aspek kesantunan dalam iklan. Pengkaji juga mengharapkan agar para pengiklan akan terus menyedari kepentingan mengekalkan nilai kesantunan dalam iklan. Kajian ini juga diharapkan dapat menambah kepada kajian-kajian tentang kesantunan.</text>

Seni pertukangan perak di Malaysia telah dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Melayu terutamanya bagi masyarakat pinggir bandar. Seni pertukangan perak ini dihasilkan  berdasarkan kreativiti Melayu. Produk-produk yang dihasilkan akan dikenali sebagai seni kraftangan masyarakat Melayu. Pelbagai barangan yang dihasilkan seperti aksesori, barangan dapur, perhiasan, dan juga cenderahati. Pada setiap barangan juga pasti akan dihias dengan ragam hias yang tertentu mengikut citarasa pembuat dan pengguna. Ianya untuk mencantikkan lagi barangan perak yang dihasilkan. Setiap ukiran yang terhasil pada produk pasti mempunyai maksud yang tersendiri yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan masyarakat Melayu. Sambutan terhadap barangan perak dahulu sangat menggalakkan kerana ia merupakan keperluan seharian  masyarakat Melayu. Pada masa kini, seni pertukangan perak di malaysia kurang diminati oleh masyarakat. Pertumbuhan teknologi yang semakin canggih hampir-hampir menenggelamkan seni pertukangan perak yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat  Melayu. Kecanggihan teknologi yang dicipta lebih senang dan cepat mampu menggantikan produk-produk daripada pertukangan tangan perak. Disebabkan hal itu, sambutan terhadap produk perak kini berkurangan dan sangat terkesan pada seni pertukangan perak. Hal ini merupakan cabaran yang perlu ditempuhi oleh pengusaha-pengusaha pertukangan perak. Pelestarian terhadap barangan  perak ini kini, boleh kenalpasti oleh pihak-pihak yang tertentu agar seni pertukangan perak terus mekar dan mendapat sambutan oleh masyarakat tempatan mahupun luar negara.</text>

Perkembangan Islam ke Asia telah turut membawa pelbagai reka bentuk yang dipengaruhi atau di asilimisasi daripada pelbagai negara sama ada gaya dunia China iaitu gaya Cina-Islam, gaya India, dan gaya Gugusan Pulau-pulau Melayu yang telah menghasilkan pelbagai perubahan kepada seni bina masjid gaya Arab. Seni bina masjid dengan ini secara jelas memperlihatkan betapa pengaruh kebudayaan setempat telah dapat disesuaikan dan diterima pakai dalam pembentukan reka bentuknya. Seni bina  masjid sentiasa menerima perubahan dan ianya melibatkan falsafah bangsa dan kefahamannya terhadap hukum alam. Kajian ini akan memperlihatkan sebuah masjid yang berseni binaan Cina yang apabila dilihat daripada jauh kelihatan seperti kuil cina. Hal ini menunjukkan reka bentuk yang terhasil daripada falsafah dan kebudayaan bangsa dan penduduk setempat yang pelbagai. Dalam kajian ini, pengkaji akan mengkaji dan akan menerangkan tentang definisi mengenai masjid, seni bina dan peranan masjid sebagai pusat pembentukan peribadi muslim. Peranan masjid sebagai pusat pembentukan peribadi muslim akan dilihat melalui aktiviti yang dijalankan oleh Masjid Beijing berkenaan sama ada melalui ceramah, kelas, kelas agama dan sebagainya.</text>

Secara keseluruhan kajian ini dibahagikan kepada lima bab. Kajian ini lebih menekankan kepada perubahan wanita dalam masyarakat Melayu yang dilihat dalam aspek politik, ekonomi dan sosial. Proses industrialisasi telah memberi kesan besar ke atas status dan peranan wanita dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat. Tenaga kerja wanita diperlukan bagi memenuhi keperluan tenaga dalam pasaran  dan mengurangkan pergantungan  tenaga asing dalam Negara. Dengan pendidikan yang ada, kaum wanita telah mula turut menyumbangkan tenaganya dalam meningkatkan ekonomi. Bangunan bersejarah adalah warisan negara yang paling nyata dan tidak ternilai harganya. Rumah tradisi di Kota Lama Duyong adalah struktur warisan yang unik dan satu yang terbaik dipelihara seumpamanya. Ia adalah gabungan pelbagai gaya seni bina. Rumah itu terdiri daripada seorang Rumah Bujang Berpemeleh, dua Rumah Lima Bungkus, ruang dapur dan kawasan tandas. Terdapat empat jenis bumbung, dan ini mencerminkan empat gaya yang berbeza rumah Melayu tradisional di Pantai Timur. Kota Lama Duyong ini terletak di Pulau Duyung Kecil. Ia merupakan kota tinggalan sejarah yang telah dibina oleh Dato’ Biji Sura (Nik Muhamad bin Hitam) pegawai kanan Pentadbiran Negeri Terengganu (Seorang Hakim). Kota Lama ini adalah satu-satunya rumah yang dibina dengan batu-bata dan papan. Rumah ini dikelilingi oleh kubu dan disebabkan itulah ianya dinamakan Kota Lama atau “old Fort”. Penerapan nilai-nilai Islam terdapat dalam Kota Lama ini yang seni binanya merupakan seni bina Melayu Terengganu pada tahun 1920 an yang mana seni bina Terengganu amat kaya dengan warisan binaan tradisional. Kota Lama Duyong ini merupakan contoh bagi pengaruh yang kebanyakan rumah-rumah di sekitar Kota Lama Duyong ini sebahagian besarnya berdasarkan rumah tradisional Melayu. Penghijrahan penduduk yang berlaku disebabkan oleh faktor penarik dan penolak yang mendorong mereka untuk berhijrah ke Tanah Melayu pada zaman dahulu telah sedikit sebanyak membawa kebudayaan tradisi mereka meresap masuk ke dalam kebudayaan masyarakat setempat. Penghijrahan  orang-orang jawa banyak dilihat bagaimana sebuah masyarakat itu berhijrah dan masuk ke dalam kebudayaan masyarakat terutamanya  masyarakat Johor. Dari situ, munculah sebuah  masyarakat yang baru di mana kedua-dua budaya itu saling melengkapi antara satu sama lain. Kebudayaan tradisional Jawa yang sememangnya di jadikan panduan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Jawa telah disesuaikan dengan kebudayaan masyarakat setempat. Kebiasaannya, kebudayaan yang dilihat yang dibawa oleh masyarakat Jawa ini ialah seni persembahan, adat resam, cara hidup, dan sebagainya.&#13;
	Seni persembahan telah menjadi satu sumber kuasa yang dapat membuat sesebuah tempat atau masyarakat itu menjadi sebuah kawasan atau budaya yang mempunyai unsur keseronokan, kebudayaan dan keharmonian. Ia juga dilihat menjadi daya tarikan dan tenaga yang dapat melindungi serta menampilkan keistimewaan manusia dan masyarakatnya. Di malaysia, dilihat mempunyai berbagai jenis kebudayaan dan seni persembahan yang menunjukkan masyarakatnya berjiwa seni dan harmoni. Kebanyakan seni persembahan ini terbentuk melalui peristiwa, sejarah, warisan dari nenek moyang yang dilihat mempunyai hubungan yang rapat dengan alam sekeliling, kepercayaan dan agama sesebuah masyarakat.&#13;
	Jika ingin dibandingkan di antara seni persembahan masyarakat dahulu dan sekarang, jelas menunjukkan perbezaan yang ketara kini seni persembahan dilakukan mengikut tuntutan agamanya iaitu agama Islam. Jika dahulu, seni persembahan di lakukan adalah bertujuan untuk upacara keagamaan atau ritual (Jawa), kini di Malaysia, ianya lebih kepada persembahan semata-mata bagi menghiburkan masyarakat setempat jika adanya majlis-majlis keramaian. Namun begitu, sama ada dahulu atau sekarang, seni persembahan merupakan identifikasi manusia kepada kehidupan mereka.&#13;
	Melihat kepada seni persembahan Barongan, ia merupakan satu kesenian yang di adaptasi dari seni Barongan Jawa, Indonesia yang dibawa oleh imigran-imigran yang datang ke Malaysia sewaktu ketika dahulu. Seni persembahan ini hanya didapati di tempat-tempat tertentu iaitu di negeri Johor dan Selangor. Di dalam persembahan yang dilakukan, memperlihatkan beberapa upacara yang sering dilakukan sebelum persembahan itu dilakukan. Namun, pengkaji ingin melihat apakah perbezaan yang ketara yang di lihat di antara kedua-dua masyarakat ini iaitu masyarakat Jawa di Johor dan masyarakat Jawa di Indonesia. Pelbagai jenis elemen, alat muzik, dapat dilihat dalam setiap persembahan yang dilakukan.&#13;
Akhir kata, penulisan ini ditulis  adalah bertujuan untuk melihat perbezaan di antara seni persembahan Barongan di Indonesia dan seni persembahan  dan seni persembahan Barongan di Malaysia. Selain itu, pengkaji ingin mengkaji secara lebih mendalam tentang bagaimana persembahan ini boleh wujud dalam masyarakat Indonesia dan apakah kaitannya dengan agama dan kepercayaan yang dianuti oleh mereka. Diharapkan agar latihan ilmiah ini dapat sedikit sebanyak membuka minda generasi anak muda akan sebuah kebudayaan tradisional masyarakat Jawa yang mempunyai asal-usulnya yang menarik dan unik.</text>

Pada bab 3 pula, pengkaji menghuraikan tentang aspek-aspek kebersihan yang terdapat atau terkandung dalam kebersihan luaran dan juga kebersihan dalaman&#13;
	Seterusnya pada bab 4 adalah hasil data atau analisis soal selidik yang diperolehi mengkaji daripada soal selidik,dan juga temubual. Pada bab ini sangat penting kerana di bahagian inilah pengkaji dapat menemui data-data yang berkenaan dengan tajuk yang dibincangkan atau dikaji. Rumah Melayu tradisional adalah lambang identiti kepada masyarakat Melayu dan ianya kaya dengan memberi pengenalan secara umum mengenai rumah tradisional Melayu dan perkembangan bentuk bumbungnya. Motif dan bahan yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan ukiran tersebut dengan hanya memfokuskan kepada hiasan ukiran bahagian bumbung Rumah Tok Su sahaja. Tumpuan utama kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis prinsip-prinsip estetika yang terdapat pada ukiran bumbung Rumah Tok Su. Di akhir kajian, pengkaji telah membincangkan mengenai langkah yang boleh diambil bagi memelihara warisan budaya Melayu iaitu Rumah Melayu tradisional.</text>

Kraftangan anyaman buluh di Malaysia telah dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Melayu terutamanya bagi masyarakat pinggir bandar dan kampung. Kraftangan anyaman akan dikenali sebagai seni kraftangan masyarakat Melayu. Pelbagai barangan yang dihasilkan seperti bakul, bekas hantaran, kipas tangan, pelapik periuk dan juga cenderahati. Kraftangan anyaman buluh ini, mempunyai ragam hias yang tertentu bagi tujuan mencantikkan lagi anyaman tersebut. Ragam hias dalam anyaman buluh ini kebiasaanya di panggil kelarai yang melibatkan motif dan corak dalam anyaman tersebut. Keindahan semula jadi alam dijadikan sebagai sumber ilham kepada penganyam untuk menghasilkan anyaman berdasarkan motif dan corak yang berasaskan alam sekeliling. Sambutan terhadap barangan kraftangan anyaman buluh dahulu sangat menggalakkan kerana ia merupakan keperluan seharian masyarakat Melayu. Pada masa kini, kraftangan anyaman buluh di Malaysia kurang diminati oleh masyarakat. Pertumbuhan teknologi yang semakin canggih hampir-hampir menenggelamkan kraftangan anyaman buluh yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat Melayu. Disebabkan hal itu, sambutan terhadap produk buluh kini berkurangan dan sangat terkesan pada seni pertukangan perak. Hal ini merupakan cabaran yang perlu ditempuhi oleh pengusaha-pengusaha kraftangan anyaman buluh. Pelestarian terhadap barangan buluh ini kini, boleh kenal pasti oleh pihak-pihak yang tertentu agar kraftangan anyaman buluh terus mekar dan mendapat sambutan masyarakat tempatan mahupun luar negara.</text>

Kajian ini merupakan satu kajian semiotik dalam ungkapan tradisional Melayu Riau yang dipetik daripada koleksi Ungkapan Tradisional Melayu Riau selenggaraan Tenas Effendy (1989). Kajian ini dijalankan dengan objektif mengenal pasti jenis simbol dan mencerakinkan aspek pemikiran, kefalsafahan, kebudayaan dan kepengaruhan agama yang terkandung dalam simbol yang digunakan. Dalam kajian ini, penggolongan simbol berdasarkan jenis-jenis simbol dilakukan sebelum data kajian dianalisis menggunakan Model Semiotik Segi Tiga Orden dan Richards (1923) sebagai garis panduan. Penggunaan simbol dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan melihat hubungan antara simbol dan referen, dari segi persamaan atau perbezaan ciri-ciri, sifat atau fungsi. Hasil dapatan kajian membuktikan simbol yang digunakan dalam ungkapan tradisional Melayu Riau berhubungkait dengan referen. Pemilihan simbol yang tepat dalam ungkapan tradisional Melayu Riau mencerminkan sifat intelektual dalam pemikiran masyarakat Melayu Riau yang berjaya mengilhamkan simbol-simbol dalam sistem kehidupan masyarakat ke dalam ungkapan-ungkapannya. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan minat masyarakat Melayu terhadap ungkapan-ungkapan tradisional yang semakin luput dimamah zaman.</text>

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu medium untuk mengubah mobiliti sosial seseorang. Malah melalui pendidikan yang Disalurkan kepada masyarakat akan membantu peningkatan pembangunan negara. Hal ini demikian kerana,pelajar akan menjadi pewaris kepada tampuk pemerintahan negara. Oleh itu, pendidikan yang berkesan sewajarnya diberikan kepada pelajar. Terdapat dua pihak yang memainkan peranan yang sangat penting dalam pendidikan pelajar. Pihak tersebut ialah institusi keluarga dan sekolah. Kedua pihak ini bertanggungjawab menyediakan sistem sokongan material dan bukan material kepada pelajar. Kesedaran mengenai kepentingan pendidikan di kawasan luar bandar masih lagi berada pada tahap sederhana. Oleh itu, masih terdapat lagi ibu bapa yang tidak menghiraukan hal persekolahan anak-anak. Selain itu, pengkaji juga mendapati bahawa sokongan material ibu bapa di kawasan luar bandar berada pada tahap sederhana. Hal ini dikaitkan dengan  taraf pendidikan ibu bapa yang rendah. Namun, ibubapa memberikan sokongan non-material kepada anak mereka dengan sebaiknya. Pihak sekolah memerlukan bantuan dan sokongan daripada ibu bapa dan persekitaran untuk sama-sama berganding bahu dalam isu pendidikan. Jika hanya pihak sekolah sahaja yang menyediakan infrastruktur yang lengkap dan pembelajaran dan pengajaran yang sistematik tetapi pelajar di rumah tidak mendapat dorongan dan motivasi untuk belajar, maka proses pembelajaran tidak berjalan dengan berkesan.</text>

Kajian ini merupakan satu penyelidikan sosiolinguistik terhadap penggunaan bahasa Melayu lisan di Pasar Geylang Serai, Singapura. Kajian ini meneliti kerencaman berbahasa dalam kalangan peniaga yang menutur bahasa Melayu, sama ada penutur asli ataupun penutur bukan asli. Data yang digunakan untuk tujuan analisis berupa rakaman suara pertuturan antara peniaga dan pembeli yang ditranskripsi. Terdapat tiga objektif utama yang mendasari kajian ini. Tujuan pertama adalah untuk mengenal pasti variasi bahasa dan ciri-ciri bahasa lisan yang terdapat dalam data kajian. Kedua, kajian bertujuan untuk menganalisis ciri-ciri khusus variasi yang telah dikenal pasti. Ketiga, kajian bertujuan untuk menganalisis ciri-ciri bahasa lisan yang telah dikenal pasti. Dua teori utama yang diaplikasikan dalam kajian ini ialah model SPEAKING Hymes (1972) dan ciri-ciri wacana lisan yang pernah dimanfaatkan oleh Wong Khek seng (2007). Data kajian dikumpul melalui dua metod, iaitu kajian kepustakaan dan kajian lapangan. Kajian lapangan dilaksanakan dengan cara merakam ujaran antara peniaga dan pembeli di pasar, di samping kaedah pemerhatian. Analisis data terbahagi kepada dua bahagian, iaitu analisis variasi bahasa dan analisis ciri-ciri bahasa Melayu lisan yang wujud dalam urusan jual beli di pasar Geylang Serai. Hasil analisis mendapati bahawa variasi bahasa yang wujud dalam komunikasi ini begitu rencam, yakni meliputi penggunaan bahasa kacukan seperti bahasa Melayu pasar, bahasa rojak serta bahasa kolokial. Pengaruh dialek turut dapat dikesan dalam pertuturan yang dirakam di samping variasi lain seperti penukaran kod dan slanga. Dari aspek ciri-ciri bahasa Melayu lisan pula, terdapat lima ciri bahasa Melayu lisan yang dapat dikesan termasuk unsur konteks, kegramatisan, pemendekan, teragak-agak serta pengulangan. Kepelbagaian aspek bahasa yang dikaji dalam kajian ini dapat memberikan gambaran perihal sifat bahasa Melayu yang dinamik, khususnya yang digunakan dalam konteks pertuturan di pasar. Kajian ini diharap dapat menyumbang kepada pengembangan bidang ilmu sosiolinguistik dan turut dapat dijadikan sebagai satu rakaman kewujudan penggunaan bahasa Melayu lisan yang rencam dalam kalangan masyarakat majmuk Singapura.</text>

Lembah Bujang merupakan tempat bersejarah kerana telah mencatatkan sejarah awal Kerajaan Negeri Kedah Darul Aman. Lembah bujang kira-kira 1000 tahun lalu merupakan pusat perdagangan  dan pemerintah kerajaan Hindu-Buddha di rantau Nusantara sebelum munculnya kerajaan Islam. Terdapat sebuah muzium arkeologi di sini yang menyimpan 1001 sejarah dan bukti awal tentang wujudnya pemerintahan Hindu-Buddha dan Islam di Kedah selain bukti kewujudan Lembah Bujang sebagai pusat perdagangan antarabangsa.&#13;
	Apabila membicara tentang permasalahan Lembah Bujang, masyarakat sering kali mengaitkannya dengan pengaruh Hindu-Buddha. Tetapi amat sedikit sekali yang cuba mendekatinya dari sudut yang lebih luas terutama yang berkaitan dengan tamadun Islam yang pernah wujud di Lembah Bujang. Sebelum kedatangan Islam, agama dan budaya Hindu-Buddha bertapak kukuh dalam setiap aspek kehidupan masyarakat setempat hingga berabad-abad lamanya. Agama dan budaya ini begitu kuat dan sangat jelas mempengaruhi kebudayaan masyarakat setempat misalnya didalam sistem politik, sosial, ekonomi dan pemikiran masyarakat Melayu.Agama Hindu boleh dikatakan menjadi anutan kebanyakan masyarakat khususnya golongan atasan seperti golongan istana kerana ianya amat sesuai untuk menjaga kepentingan sosial dan politik mereka sendiri.&#13;
Kemasukan pedagang Arab ke  Lembah Bujang  yang turut membawa bersama agama Islam telah menyebabkan agama Islam mula tersebar luas. Masyarakat setempat telah mula mengenali Islam sebagai sebuah ajaran yang berteraskan akidah dan lebih rasional. Berpandukan kepada konsep rasionalisme inilah, menyebabkan masyarakat Melayu dengan  sendiri menolak kepercayaan  tahyul Hindu dan fahaman Animisme. Akhirnya Tamadun Islam sedikit demi sedikit telah berjaya meresapi  dan melunturkan kegemilangan tamadun Hindu-Buddha dan berlakunya proses penyesuaian diantara kedua-dua kebudayaan. Perubahan dan proses penyesuaian ini menampilkan suatu hakikat bahawa Islam telah berjaya membawa era di rantau ini dan meninggalkan era lama yang wujud sebelumnya.  &#13;
	Oleh itu, tesis ini antara lain akan membincangkan beberapa aspek pembaharuan dan perubahan yang dibawa oleh Islam, seperti dari segi sosial, budaya dan pemikiran masyarakat Melayu. Walaupun tamadun dan pengaruh Hindu tidak dapat dilenturkan sepenuhnya berikutan dari pertapakan dan perkembangan Islam, namun secara umumnya boleh dikatakan bahawa sebahagian besar Tamadun Islam berjaya mengatasi tamadun Hindu, malah dapat mengubah cara hidup mereka bersesuaian dengan ajaran Islam yang maha suci. Justeru, tesis ini bertujuan untuk membongkar, menyingkap, merekonstruksi dan menyusun kronologi sejarahnya.</text>

	Objek utama penulisan latihan ilmiah ini untuk membincangkan tentang fenomena drama rantaian Asia yang mempengaruhi golongan mahasiswi di Universiti Teknologi Mara Cawangan Perlis (UiTM) dan golongan suri rumah di Bandar Diraja Arau. Selain itu, pengkaji ingin mengenal pasti faktor-faktor tarikan drama rantaian Asia dan pengkaji juga menganalisis adakah fenomena drama rantaian memberi kesan positif dan negatif secara langsung ataupun tidak langsung kepada mahasiswi dan suri rumah.&#13;
	Kajian ini menggunakan satu set borang soal selidik yang diedarkan kepada 100 orang responden, malah pengkaji juga mengadakan sesi temubual bersama-sama 11 orang informan yang dipilih secara rawak di bandar berkenaan. Kajian ini telah mendapati bahawa kecenderungan minat mahasiswi dan suri rumah adalah berbeza antara satu sama lain.&#13;
	Di samping itu, kajian ini turut memperolehi maklumat mengenai faktor-faktor ketaksuban menonton drama rantaian Asia disebabkan faktor tarikan drama-drama rantaian Asia itu sendiri, masa yang sesuai untuk menonton dan didapati terdapat 13 drama Asia timur dan Asia Tenggara yang telah dipilih oleh penonton. Di dalam kajian ini juga telah menunjukkan bahawa drama-drama rantaian Asia ini memberikan kesan positif dan negatif sama ada dipengaruhi secara langsung ataupun tidak langsung kepada mahasiswi dan suri rumah di kawasan kajian.</text>

Perkembangan budaya Korea, Jepun dan China di Malaysia disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Salah satunya ialah faktor globalisasi yang menyebabkan segala ideologi bebas masuk di negara ini melalui pelbagai jenis media dan salah satunya adalah televisyen. Melalui rangkaian televisyen inilah yang menyebabkan berlakunya lambakan drama asing di media Malaysia yang berjaya menarik minat masyarakat Melayu umumnya untuk terus menonton. Terdapat berbagai faktor yang berjaya menarik minat masyarakat Melayu untuk menonton drama asing. Salah satu faktornya ialah disebabkan oleh faktor tema cerita. Namun begitu, lambakan drama asing ini juga telah meninggalkan beberapa kesan sama ada kesan positif mahupun kesan negatif. Kesan positif yang dapat dilihat adalah melalui drama yang ditayangkan, ia berjaya menerapkan nilai-nilai murni dalam diri para penonton. Walaupun drama asing ini mempunyai kesan yang negatif, namun ia juga mempunyai keistimewaannya yang tersendiri.</text>

Satu kajian yang melandaskan teknik permainan bahasa telah dijalankan ke atas pelajar darjah 4 di Sekolah Rendah East Coast, Singapura yang bertujuan untuk menentukan keberkesanan teknik permainan bahasa dalam pengajaran imbuhan. Data kajian ini merangkumi maklumat yang dikumpulkan daripada dua puluh lima orang pelajar selama tiga minggu yang membabitkan dua kali soal selidik dan dua kali ujian penilaian yang berasaskan imbuhan. Kajian ini membabitkan penilaian berkenaan kata imbuhan terhadap pelajar pada sebelum dan selepas teknik permainan bahasa dijalankan dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Penganalisisan  data dijalankan berdasarkan kajian soal selidik dan ujian penilaian. Data-data yang diperolehi akan dianalisis. Hasil kajian ini telah menunjukkan penggunaan teknik permainan bahasa adalah berkesan dalam pengajaran imbuhan.</text>
