Penerapan teori binary opposition yang dipopularkan oleh Levi Strausse digunakan dalam penganalisisan watak JB. Usaha memaparkan khayalan JB yang ingin mempertahankan dignitinya sebagai manusia, Tuhan dan anjing dan berbagai lagi dibicarakan dalam Bab Tiga. JB tidak terus menerus berkhayal, kerana ia pasti kembali siuman dan yang demikian penulis berusaha memperkatakan manusia JB yang sebenar lewat sebagai manusia Jaw dan manusia Muslim. Hal ini dibicarakan oleh Bab Empat. Ranggawarsita juga adalah seorang kitikus sosial. Beliau begitu Berjaya memaparkan keruwetan masyarakatnya menerusi protagonist yang terdapat dalam JB sebagai Wong cilik menerusi pendekatan teknik positif reinforcement. Sebagai seorang kritikus sosial di dalam sebuah masyarakat feudal seperti Jawa, Ranggawarsita sangat berhati-hati, namun tidak pula kehilangan ketajaman kritikannya. Di sinilah terletaknya ketokohannya sebagai seorang pujangga. Rasanya tidak adil kalau ketokohan Ranggawarsita itu tidak ditemukan dengan kontemporarinya. Justeru itu penulis membawakan dua orang tokoh pujangga sezaman di Nusantara iaitu Raja Ali Haji dan Abdullah Munshi. Kedudukan mereka dihuraikan dalam Bab Lima. JB sebagai sebuah teks telah disorot secara global dengan menggunakan parafenalia filiologi sebagai kerangka asas di samping penerapan teori sastera moden yang difikirkan cocok dengan fakta yang dibicarakan. Bab 5 membincangkan bentuk nuhuan ayat yang digunakan dalam wacana, dari segi kombinasi susunan maklumat dan susunan ayat yang logical. Didapati bahawa pemilihan judulakan menentukan atau bentuk ayat di mana ianya dipilih daripada sejumlah pilihan pola ayat yang telah disediakan secara teoretis (sistem pilih yang sedia ada). Bab 6 menganalisis bagaiman sudut pandangan pembicara mempengaruhi pemilihan judul dalam ayat kompleks setara. Di samping itu diperkatakan tentang Endstellung dalam susunan ayat yang lojikal, dari segi susunan maklumat. Bab 7 memberikan kesimpulan kajian dengan menekankan bahawa bentuk nahuan ayat perlu dikaji berdasarkan susunan maklumat dan susunan ayat yang ligikal, yang didapati dalam konteks wacana.
