Sejarah dan perkembangan dramatari Arja dan Makyung di Asia Tenggara dikenal pasti tertumpu di beberapa tempat sahaja. Arja hanya terdapat di seluruh daerah Bali, Indonesia. Manakala Makyung hanya di Malaysia (Kelantan, Terrengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Thailand (Pattani, Narathiwat) dan Indonesia (Sumatera dan Kepulauan Riau). &#13;
Arja merupakan dramatari pelbagai panggilan, makna, konsep, jenis dan falsafah yang dikenalpasti terbentuk pada awal abad ke-19. Ia sesuai dipersembahkan di pelbagai jenis panggung dengan paten cerita berdasarkan watak utama. Humor Arja berfungsi kepada masyarakat penonton berdasarkan mesej cerita, ritual agama, hiburan semasa dan kritikn sosial semasa persembahan berlangsung. &#13;
Makyung pula dipercayai muncul dengan bentuk paling asas pada awal abad ke 12. Ia merupakan dramatari berbentuk ritual (perubatan dan upacara) dan hiburan dengan pelbagai paten, falsafah dan makna mengikut tempat persembahan. Teori asal usul Malyung adalah kompleks berdasarkan kepercayaan setempat yang bercampur dengan pelbagai pengaruh kepercayaan lain seperti Anamisme, Hindu, Buddha dan Islam. Humornya pula berfungsi kepada individu pemain dan masyarakat penontonnya.</text>

Kajian ini menganalisis novel-novel Faisal Tehrani dengan menggunakan teori intertekstualiti dan teori Pengkaedahan Melayu. Novel-novel tersebut terdiri daripada 1515,1511H (Kombat), Tuhan Manusia Kalbu, Sasatul Ibaad, dan Ta’ziyah Karbala. Analsis novel-novel tersebut akan menggunakan tiga prinsip dalam teori intertekstualiti iaitu transformasi, modifikasi, dan ekspansi dan pendekatan dakwah dalam teori Pengkaedahan Melayu. Penggunaan kedua-dua teori dibincangkan bersama dalam meneliti sumber yang dirujuk oleh pengarang untuk menyampaikan dakwah kepada khalayak. Permasalahan kajian yang bertolak daripada Faisal Tehrani sebagai seorang yang merujuk, mengkaji, dan menyelidik sumber-sumber untuk berdakwah dalam menghasilkan novel akan diteliti oleh pengkaji. Manakala objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti hipogram, mengaplikasi teori intertekstualiti dan pengkaedahan Melayu, dan melihat kesesuaian penggunaan kedua-dua teori tersebut. Sumber-sumber hipogram dalam novel-novel Faisal Tehrani perlu dikenal pasti dengan menggunakan teori intertekstualiti. Manakala dalam membuktikan dakwah, pengkaji menggunakan pendekatan dakwah untuk mengulas bagaimana sumber yang dipetik dari luar digunakan dalam novel-novel yang dikaji. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan Faisal Tehrani menulis dengan merujuk hipogram untuk berdakwah dengan menggunakan teori intertekstualiti dan pendekatan dakwah. Kesimpulannya, kedua-dua teori ini adalah sesuai dibincangkan terhadap novel-novel Faisal Tehrani untuk berdakwah menegakkan Islam Supremasi (Keunggulan Islam).</text>

Kajian ini menganalisis persoalan ketahanan nasional yang terdapat di dalam novel-novel pilihan yang dihasilkan oleh penulis-penulis guru terutamanya yang berpendidikan tinggi. Pemilihan penulis guru dilakukan berdsarkan sejarah penulisan novel itu negara Brunei Darussalam yang dimulakan oleh penulis guru. Di samping itu, guru adalah orang yang terlibat dalam mengajar ciri-ciri ketahanan nasional itu di sekolah-sekolah baik secara langsung mahupun tidak langsung. Setiap penulis dipilih dua buah novel terbaik mereka. &#13;
Kajian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti persoalan ketahanan nasional negara Brunei Darussalam yang terdapat dalam novel-novel kajian dan seterusnya memaparkan pengalaman watak-watak dalam naratifnya yang Berjaya mengasimilasikan ciri-ciri ketahanan nasional tersebut dalam kehidupan mereka. Kesan asimilasi itu menyebabkan keselamatan dan kemakmuran baik dalam keluarga, masyarakat mahupun negara telah dapat dipertahankan. Analisis ini menekankan perspektif watak-watak menerapkan ciri ketahanan nasional sosiobudaya, ketahanan nasional sosioekonomi danketahan nasional sosiopolitik. Dalam analisis ini setiap pecahan ketahanan nasional bagi setiap kategorinya itu dipaparkan penerapannya dalam kehidupan watak-watak dan masyarakat.  </text>

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti peranan dalang selaku pencerita dalam naskhah Hikayat Pandawa Lebur MSS 737, koleksi Perpustakaan Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Naskhah ini mengandungi enam siri perang antara Kerajaan Pandawa dengan Kerajaan Ukirtawang, Kerajaan Tambak Kencana, Kerajaan Ukirsina, Kerajaan Penatas Angin, Kerajaan Manca Pati dan Kerajaan Sura Peringga. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan filologi moden yang melihat variasi naskhah sebagai ciptaan teks yang tersendiri. Pendekatan ini tidak melibatkan perbandingan naskhah sebaliknya kajian yang mendalam dilakukan terhadap variasi naskhah yang dikaji. Objektif kajian adalah untuk menganalisis sama ada peranan penceritaan dalang dalam Hikayat Pandawa Lebur MSS 737 sama seperti yang dinyatakan dalam teori Koster (1997) kerana HPL disampaikan oleh dalang. Kedua untuk menganalisis kemungkinan wujud peranan dagang dan akhirnya untuk membuktikan bahawa kebenaran pandangan sarjana bahawa Hikayat Pandawa Lebur MSS 737 ialah cerita pandawa yang berbeza daripada cerita-cerita pandawa yang lazim ditemui. </text>

Bahasa kiasan merupakan ungkapan yang maknanya tidak dapat diketahui daripada makna perkataan itu sendiri. Dalam menterjemahkan bahasa kiasan, pengetahuan mengenai bahasa dan budaya yang terlibat amat penting, malahan pengetahuan tentang pemilihan kata dan strategi penterjemahan juga amat penting untuk diketahui oleh seseorang penterjemah. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis terjemahan bahasa kiasan yang terdapat dalam teks asal kepada teks sasaran dan strategi terjemahan yang digunakan oleh penterjemahan bagi menterjemah bahasa kiasan. Pengkaji telah memilih sebuah teks novel terjemahan daripada bahasa Inggeris karya J.K Rowling berjudul Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows dan terjemahan bahasa Melayu yang dilakukan oleh syarikat penerbitan Pelangi Sdn Bhd bertajuk Harry Potter dan Azimat Maut. Kajian ini telah menerapkan taksonomi Larson (1998) bagi menyempurnakan analisis strategi penterjemah yang digunakan oleh penterjemah dalam teks sasaran. Daripada analisis yang telah dilakukan, didapati bahawa penggunaan idiom paling tinggi, iaitu sebanyak 57% (173), diikuti dengan simili 39% (117) dan metafora sebanyak 4% (13). Strategi utama yang telah diguna pakai oleh penterjemah ialah menterjemah menggunakan strategi mengekalkan imej atau unsur bahasa kiasan bahasa Inggeris, iaitu sebanyak 68.32% (207), manakala strategi mengekalkan bahasa kiasan dengan memberi penjelasan tidak digunakan oleh penterjemahan dalam kajian ini.</text>

Fokus utama dalam penyelidikan ini ialah mengkaji simbol-simbol dalam pantun perkahwinan yang diucapkan para muhakam. Oleh itu kajian ini mentafsirkan simbol-simbol dengan melihat secara kontekstual makna-makna simbolik atau makna tersirat yang terdapat dalam pantun perkahwinan Melayu Sambas. Berdasarkan penyelidikan ini penyelidikan telah memperkenalkan satu model penyelidikan yang baru dalam mengakaji pantun. Pendekatan yang menggunakan model analisis makna simbolik pantun dengan perangkat kerja etnografi berdasarkan kerangka yang diasaskan James P. Spradley (1997). Dalam kerja etnografi makna sebuah simbol harus berdasarkan konteks dan makna relasi simbol tersebut, iaitu fungsinya pada kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Melayu di Sambas. Perbincangan etnogradi ini berdasarkan wawancara dengan para pemantun (muhakan) dalam memahami makna-makna simbolik di sebalik pantun yang diucapkannya. Ada 32 pusingan adat perkahwinan Melayu Sambas yang mestinya dilakukan dengan berperingkat-peringkat dan berhari-hari yang berbeza.</text>

	Penulisan ini merujuk pada sebuah kerangka teori yang sesuai dengan kajian tradisi pantun nikah kahwin masyarakat Melayu Bengkalis iaitu struktur fungsional. Kajian ini melihat tradisi nikah kahwin yang masih berfungsi pada masyarakat Melayu Bengkalis dengan tatanan kehidupan yang dimilikinya. Tatanan kehidupan itu dapat dilihat dengan masih adanya pantun struktur fungsional pantun yang mengikat pada tradisi pantun nikah kahwin tersebut. Fungsi yang mengikat ini terjalin erat dengan adat istiadat, agama dan bahasa yang saling dukung mendukung dalam tradisi tersebut sehingga menjadi satu kesatuan yang utuh. &#13;
	Pewarisan sebuah tradisi dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal terkait dengan pola pewarisan dari masyarakat pemilik tradisi tersebut. Bagaimana penutur pantun mewariskan dan mengajarkan kepada generasi yang lebih muda. Pewarisan perlu segera dilakukan, mengingatkan para penutur pantun berada dalam usia tua. Kajian ini membangunkan sebuah animasi cerita sebagai alat untuk penilaian adaptasi teks dan persembahan. Adaptasi teks yang dibuat adalah berasaskan kepada kisah Puteri Saadong, petikan dari Hikayat Seri Kelantan manakala adaptasi persembahan memilih seni persembahan bangsawan. Dengan aplikasi pendekatan adaptasi Hutcheon (2006) dan persepsi visual Arnheim (1974), kisah Puteri Saadong dan ciri-ciri persembahan bangsawan melalui penyesuaian untuk dipersembahkan dalam format animasi dua dimensi. Penghuraian tentang produksi animasi kajian yang dinamakan ‘’Bangsawan Puteri Saadong’’ dilakukan dengan memperincikan proses penulisan skrip, papan cerita, pembangunan audio dan grafik. Penilaian ‘’Bangsawan Puteri Saadong’’ bertujuan melihat faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi terhadap karya adaptasi sastera tradisional yang diolah mengikut acuan persembahan Melayu tradisional. Dapatan dari penilaian mendapati bahawa faktor latar belakang pendidikan, pengalaman, minat, jantina dan umur mempengaruhi persepsi individu terhadap hasil adaptasi, selaras  dengan model kajian, hasil pertindihan antara teori adaptasi (Hutcheon, 2006) dan teori persepsi visual (Arnheim, 1974).</text>

Kajian ini menganalisis tiga buah novel terpilih karya Azizi Hj. Abdullah dengan menggunakan Teori Intertekstualiti. Novel-novel tersebut ialah Seoang Tua di Kaki Bukit (1982), Memoir Seorang Guru (2007) dan Beruk (2010). Analisis tersebut akan menggunakan tiga prinsip yang terdapat Teori Intertekstualiti iaitu pertama, prinsip transformasi, kedua, prinsip modifikasi dan ketiga, prinsip ekspansi. Permasalahan kajian bertolak daripada Azizi Hj Abdullah sebagai seorang sasterawan yang berkecenderungan melakukan penyelidikan dan merujuk sumber-sumber asalnya untuk diangkat dalam karyanya yang baharu. Kebanyakkan hipoteknya ialah teks pengarang itu sendiri. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa Azizi Hj. Abdullah menulis dengan merujuk hipoteks yang melalui pelbagai proses seperti kerja pemindahan atau penambahan episode tertentu bagi memperkukuh makna hipoteks. Selain itu terdapat juga proses-proses lain seperti penukaran, pengembangan, serapan, persamaan atau pembaikan daripada teks asal membolehkan teks asal berubah kepada bentuk baharu sama ada dari aspek kandungan ataupun sisi plot penceritaan. Disamping berfungsi sebagai sebuah rakaman atau pengalaman bagi generasi akan datang. Kreatifnya seorang pengarang itu mengadun kembali teks awal mereka dalam hiperteks membuktikan bahawa setiap karya sastera akan terus hidup, dapat dilanjutkan persoalan, diperdalam gelojak jiwa watak seterusnya meninggalkan impak bersar kepada khalayak pembaca melalui pemaknaan sama ada dalam bentuk yang konkrit mahupun yang signifikan. </text>

Tesis ini memfokuskan kajiannya terhadap dinamika wacana Maulid Nabi (MN) di Minangkabau melalui teks dan konteks naskhah-naskhah karya para ulama tempatan. Dalam konteks dinamika Islam tempatan, wacana MN merupakan salah satu isu polimik keislaman di Minagkabau yang cukup kontroversial dan memancing beberapa sarjana untuk melakukan penelitian terhadapnya. Akan tetapi, kajian yang menggunakan naskhah-naskhah karya ulama tempatan sebagai sumber utamanya masih sedikit dilakukan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekaan filologi dan teori Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) dengan menggabungka model CDA Norman Fairclough dan Ruth Wodak. Suntingan teks yang dihasilkan dengan pendekatan filogi, dianalisis teks dan konteksnya secara kritis dengan teori CDA. Dalam perspektif CDA, wacana MN tidak hanya dianalisis pada peringkat teks saja, namun diteruskan pada aspek konteks sejarah dan sosial budayanya. Metodologi kualitatif yang digunakan dalam kajian ini melibatkan metode penelitian yang dimiliki ole pendekatan filologi dan teori CDA. Secara umum, kajian ini menjelaskan sejauh mana naskhah-naskhah karya para ulama tempatan menggambarkan dinamika wacana MN di Minangkabau. Untuk sampai pada tujuan kajian, wacana MN dianalisis mulai dari proses produksi, distribusi hingga konsumi wacana. Dari analisis yang dilakukan, kajian ini menampilkan fakta bahawa karya sastera berkenaan dengan MN secara diskursif telah menjadi wacana yang berideologi, sehingga mampu membentuk dan memperkuatkan identiti Kaun Tua di Minangkabau. Pada saat yang bersamaan, praktik wacana tersebut menjadi kekuatan yang tangguh untuk menyangkal serangan secara diskursif yang dilancarkan oleh kalangan ulama Kaum Muda. Perang wacana-baik melalui tulisan dan debat terbuka-pada era transmisi pembaharuan Islam di Minangkabau telah memberi kesan positif terhadap tradisi intelektual dalam kalangan ulama Minangkabau.</text>

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti konseptualisasi anwar Ridhwan yang tersurat dan tersirat dalam lima puluh enam buah cerpen yang diterbitkan dari tahun 1976 hingga 2009 yang terkumpul dalam Kumpulan Cerpen Persendirian Parasit (1976), Sangkar (1986), Naratif Ogonshoto (2001), Kumpulan Cerpen Parasit dan Sesudah Perang (2009) dan cerpen-cerpen yang tersiar secara eceran dalam majalah Dewan Sastera dan akhbar arus perdana seperti Berita harian dan Mingguan Malaysia.Teori Konseptual Kata Kunci yang diperkenalkan oleh sarjana Malaysia, Mohamad Mokhtar Abu Hassan menjadi kerangka teoritis dalam penyelidikan ini. Dengan menerapkan Teori Konseptual Kata Kunci, kata kunci dan simbol dalam 56 buah cerpen dianalisis untuk mengenal pasti konseptualisasi Anwar Ridhwan berhubung dengan konsep kepimpinan, konsep kemiskinan dan konsep perjuangan. Dapatan kajian membuktikan bahawa kata kunci digunakan untuk menyalurkan konseptualisasi secara tersurat manakala simbol digunakan untuk menyalurkan konseptualisasi secara tersurat manakala simbol digunakan untuk menzahirkan konsertualisasi secara tersirat. Daripada kata kunci dan sepuluh jenis simbol yang ditemukan seperti simbol haiwan, simbol burung, simbol serangga, simbol alam, simbol peristiwa, simbol objek, simbol warna, simbol tempat dan simbol angka, terbukti bahawa Anwar Ridhwan menghubungkan personaliti, pengaruh, strategi fan kediktatoran sebagai faktor utama dalam konsep kepimpinan. </text>

Negeri Sembilan dikatakan sebagai salah satu daripada kawasan rantau Minangkabau sejak ratusan tahun yang lalu. Jejak keminangkabauan mereka masih tergambar pada sistem sosiobudaya masyarakat Negeri Sembilan sekarang seperti hidup dalam kelompok-kelompok (mereka namaka suku). Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menghuraikan bentuk dan penggunaan kata suapan di Nagari Batuhampar Kecamatan Akabiluru Kabupaten 50 kota dan Daerah Rembau Negeri Sembilan serta membandingkan persamaan dan perbezaan kata sapaan dalam masyarakat Minangkabau pada kedua-dua kawasan tersebut. Faktr-faktor yang menyebabkan perubahan bentuk kata sapaan berlaku juga dijelaskan dalam kajian ini. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data-data ialah teori kata sapaan yang dikemukakan oleh Ervin-Tripp (1986). Data dikumpulkan di Nagari Batuhampar Kecamatan Akabiluru Kabupaten 50 Kota dan Daerah Rembau Negeri Sembilan dengan menggunakan metodologi semak dan cakap yang dilaksanakan dengan sau set teknik penyelidikan.</text>

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal komponen-komponen kecerdasan emosi dalam novel-novel remaja dan pengaruh komponen kecerdasan emosi terhadap pembentukan sahsiah remaja dalam novel kajian. Kehadiran komponen kecerdasan emosi dapat dikesan melalui peristiwa-peristiwa yang dilalui oleh watak yang pastinya mempunyai kaitan denga latar belakang watak dan tahap kecerdasan emosi yang dimiliki oleh remaja tersebut. Remaja yang pandai mengurus emosi pastinya memiliki sifat remaja unggul iaitu mempunyai keimanan yang kukuh, akhlak yang mulia dan disanjung oleh semua orang. Terdapat tiga objektif yang dicapai dalam kajian ini iaitu, mengenal pasti kehadiran komponen kecerdasan emosi pada watak-watak yang terdapat dalam teks kajian, menganalisis kecerdasan emosi yang terdapat pada watak-watak protagonis remaja berdasarkan Model Kecerdasan Emosi (MKE) dalam teks kajian dan menilai pengaruh dan kepentingan komponen kecerdasan emosi terhadap pembentukan sahsiah unggul watak protagonist remaja dalam teks terpilih. Kajian ini berlandaskan Teori Kecerdasan Emosi yang dipelopori oleh Mayer dan Salovey (1990) dan Teori Kecerdasan Emosi oleh Daniel Goleman (1995/1999). Selain itu, Pendekatan Tauhid juga diguna pakai untuk melihat apspek-aspek kerohanian Islam dalam diri remaja. </text>

Kemasukan pelbagai produk antarabangsa yang diimport ke Malaysia menyebabkan iklan yang dicipta dalam bahasa Inggeris perlu diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Melayu. Langkah penterjemahan iklan semestinya mempunyai kekangan apabila produk yang diasaskan dari luar negara membawa bersama budaya, norma dan juga sistem bahasa negara produk berkenaan. Berlandaskan permasalahan berkenaan, kajian ini mengkaji penterjemahan tajuk utama dalam katalog bercetak Cosway dan Avon. Tiga perspektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji ciri-ciri bahasa tajuk utama, isu keinggerisan yang wujud dalam terjemahan tajuk serta pendekatan penterjemahan tajuk utama. Oleh itu kajian ini mengaplikasikan pendekatan elektrik untuk menganalisis data kajian. Pandangan Torresi (2010) berkenaan bahasa teks periklanan dipertimbangkan bagi mengenal pasti ciri-ciri bahasa dalam penulisan tajuk utama. Kategori oleh Haugen (1972) pula dimanfaatkan untuk mengelaskan unsur keinggerisan yang wujud dalam tajuk utama. Selain itu, pendekatan terjemahan fungsian yang diutarakan oleh Nord (1997) diaplikasikan bagi menghuraikan pendekatan terjemahan yang digunakan oleh penterjemah sewaktu menterjemah. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan penterjemah menggunakan gabungan bahasa kreatif dan bahasa emotif dalam penulisan tajuk utama. Selain itu, langkah penterjemahan telah mewujudkan unsur keinggerisan seperti kata pinjaman dan kata pinjaman gabungan. </text>

Kajian ini menganalisis makna siratan daripada pengukapan dalam lima buah novel politik Melayu yang dipilih. Pengukapan yang mengandungi makna siratan merupakan cara yang digunakan oleh para pengarang novel sebagai kritikan terhadap individu dan masyarakat. Pengukapan yang mengandungi makna siratan menunjukkan kebijaksanaan para pengarang mengaitkan karya kreatif dengan situasai kehidupan seharian dalam masyarakat. Terdapat tafsiran dalam pengukapan pengarang yang dapat dikaitkan dengan fungsi kesusasteraan sebagai cerminan masyarakat dan kreativiti dalam seni naratif itu. Analisis ini menghuraikan makna yang tersirat daripada pengungkapan yang dipilih daripada dimensi perilaku, dimensi peristiwa dan dimensi unsur alam. Dimensi perilaku, peristiwa dan unsur alam yang membincangkan makna siratan ini disimpulkan daripada sepuluh prinsip Gagasan Kritikan Melayu yang diperkenalkan oleh Dr. Syed Otman Syed Omar. Lima buah novel Melayu yang bertema politik dipilih dalam kajian ini ialah Sebelas Rejab, Anak Mat Lela Gila, Tunggul-tunggul Gerigis, Nagogho Astana dan Naratif Ogonshoto. Kelima-lima karya ini mewakili zaman penghasilan karya kesusasteraan Melayu dalam genre novel dari zaman sebelum kemerdekaan, era kemerdekaan dan selepas tahu 2000.</text>

Kajian ini mengkaji dan menganalisis teks pantun dalam buku Pantun Melayu Bingkisan Permata (2001) terbitan Yayasan Karyawan, yang diselenggarakan oleh Harun Mat Piah. Pantun dianalisis menggunakan Pendekatan Puitika Sastera Melayu oleh Muhammad Salleh dengan mengambil satu prinsip utama, iaitu Yang Indah-indah: Estetika Sastera Melayu, Analisi tersebut menggunakan tiga sub-prinsip yang terkandung dalam prinsip Yang Indah-indah: Estetika Sastera Melayu, iaitu dunia luas yang dipadatkan, kiasan dan saranan dan dunia berjodoh yang memperlihatkan keindahan sesebuah pantun. Keindahan pantun dalam kajian ini tertumpu kepada simbol dan makna yang diungkapkan dalam pantun. Permasalahan kajian yang bertolak daripada timbulnya kekaburan dalam memahami simbol dan makna boleh menyebabkan salah faham dan salah tafsir kepada pembaca dan pendengar pantun. Simbol yang diungkapkan mempunyai makna simbolik yang sukar difahami. Hal ini dapat dilihat dan dibuktikan dalam penggunaan simbol yang lebih dominan dalam pantun, iaitu simbol tumbuhan dan haiwan yang mempunyai makna berlapis-lapis yang perlu ditafsirkan dengan teliti dan jelas. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti simbol dan makna dalam yang indah-indah yang memperlihatkan estetika Melayu, menganalisis simbol dan makna tumbuhan dan haiwan dalam pantun dan menilai simbol dan makna tumbuhan dan haiwan dalam Pantun Melayu Bingkisan Permata. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan ketiga-ketiga objektif kajian telah tercapai. Kesimpulannya, untuk menjelaskan keindahan pantun melalui simbol dan makna yang diungkapkan dalam pantun perlulah menggunakan kaedah estetika pantun dalam pendekatan Puitika Sastera Melayu yang melihat keindahan pantun dari sudut pandangan orang Melayu sendiri.</text>

	Fokus kajian ini ialah mengenai falsafah seni ukiran Melayu dan melestarikannya sebagai warisan seni yang terdapat di Malaysia. Kajian turut melihat bagaimana sesebuah institusi yang terbabit memainkan peranan mereka dalam menjayakan. Dalam konteks masyarakat Melayu, setiap seni yang dihasilkan itu sebenarnya telah dirancang dengan teliti agar di dalam setiap rupa bentuk seni tersebut mempunyai ‘jiwa’ yang dilihat boleh berkomunikasi kepada masyarakat. Syed Ahmad Jamal (2000) telah menyatakan konsep seni rupa Melayu lahir daripada kesedaran terhadap intisari sesuatu hasil ciptaan, iaitu melalui bentuk tampaknya kepada dimensi yang terjalin pada rupa ciptaan itu. Ini menjadi titian di antara realiti yang zahir dan batin serta berperanan sebagai perantara jiwa pencipta dan penghayat. Dari sinilah dapat dilihat keupayaan seni itu dalam menimbulkan pelbagai penafsiran, pemikiran, rasa dan persoalan. Dalam penyelidikan ini pengkaji juga menggunakan teori sosiologi pengetahuan, ini adalah untuk pengkaji memahami hubungan ukiran dengan masyarakat dan bagaimana falsafah yang terkandung di dalam ukiran ini dapat dilestrikan. Sosiologi pengetahuan merupakan ilmu yang menjadi cabang dari sosiologi yang mempelajari hubungan timbal-balik antara pemikiran dan masyarakat. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa cara terbaik untuk melestarikan seni ukiran Melayu adalah melalui penyampaian ilmu dari dalam kelompok masayarakat selain dari kaedah penguatkuasaan akta, kaedah pemuliharaan makmal dan kerja lapangan yang dijalankan dalam usaha mengekalkannya. </text>

Kajian kritikan seni ini adalah mengenai teks penulisan terhadap pengkaryaan dua orang tokoh pelukis Malaysia iaitu Syed Ahmad Jamal dan Mohd. Hoessein Enas. Penelitian adalah merujuk kepada kaedah kualitatif analisis kandungan terhadap sumber penulisan pengkritikan seni tanah air khususnya dari sudut sosiobudaya. Sehingga kini tidak banyak kajian ilmiah tentang kritikan seni di lakukan di negara ini bagi mengesani penglibatan dan mengetengahkan golongan pengkritikan.  Objektif kajian dalam penyelidikan ini adalah untuk melihat keserasian dan kesesuaian bahan-bahan penulisan berkaitan karya pelukis dalam mengetengahkan aspek makna dari sudut sosiobudaya. Segala paparan mengenai kritikan seni diteliti semula bagi menganalisis jenis kritikan seni, pendekatan penulisan serta membolehkan pola pemikiran pengkritikan diselidik. Rujukan penelitian adalah sumber-sumbar perpustakaan, arkib serta catatan penulis. Daripada sejumlah pengkiritikan, sebelas (11) dipilih untuk penganalisisan utama untuk dijadikan tanda aras kepada kajian ini. Ia melibatkan kaedah kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif terhadap bahan-bahan penulisan mereka. Kaedah temu bual dilakukan dengan melibatkan informan daripada golongan sejarawan seni, pelukis dan ahli akademik untuk mendapatkan sumber informasi mengenai aspek kritikan seni. Melalui kajian ini beberapa cadangan serta input dikemukakan kepada pihak atau golongan tertentu untuk merangka perancangan yang lebih efektif dan komprehensif bagi meningkatkan amalan dan budaya kritikan seni tanah air. Bidang kritikan seni sebenarnya boleh menyuburkan budaya ilmu melalui suatu bentuk metodologi yang beteraskan perspektif sosiobudaya yang sekaligus mampu memberi impak kepada dunia seni visual dan masyarakat di Malaysia. </text>

Kajian ini berkaitan dengan aspek kesopanan berbahasa berdasarkan novel Melunas Rindu, iaitu teks Komsas yang digunakan oleh para murid tingkatan empat di Zon 4(Johor, Sabah, Sarawak dan Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan). Analisis data dalam kajian ini melibatkan 33 peristiwa bahasa berdasarkan dialog watak utama, iaitu Fuad dan watak sampingannya Farhana. Permasalahan  kajian ini bertitik tolak daripada isu kesopanan berbahasa yang semakin terhakis dan terhadnya sumber rujukan diperingkat ilmiah. Keterbatasan dan kekurangan kajian dengan menggunakan bahan Komsas yang dianalisis secara pragmati turut mendorong kajian ini dijalankan. Kajian ini mempunyai tiga objektif, iaitu mengklasifikasi pola kesopanan berbahasa, menganalisis pola kesopanan berbahasa dan memetakan struktur bahasa dalam Melunas Rindu. Dapatan kajian ini akan dapat memberikan input baharu dengan nilai tambah, iaitu bahan Konsas ini diteliti dari perspektif pemikiran yang lebih tinggi dengan menggunakan teori-teori linguistik. Kajian ini juga menyumbang ke arah memperkaya khazanah dalam bidang pragmatik selain mengisi kekurangan kajian dengan menggunakan bahan Komsas. Seterusnya, dapat memberikan pendedahan tentang tatacara berkomunkasi kepada khalayak sasaran agar membudayakannya dalam kehidupan. Kajian ini menggunakan antara lainnya kaedah kepustakaan, analisis teks dan kaedah kuantitatif. Kajian ini mengaplikasikan dua teori, iaitu model Prinsip Kesopanan Leech (1983) dan Prinsip Kerjasama Grice (1975) bagi membentuk Model Pola Kombinasi Maksim Umum (MPKMU). MPKMU mengandungi enam pola, iaitu Pola 1, 6 PS + 4 PK; Pola 2, 5 PS + 3 PK; Pola 3, 4 PS + 2 PK; Pola 4, 3 PS + 1 PK; Pola 5, 2 PS dan Pola 6, 1 PS untuk digunakan sebagai asas menganalisis data kajian. Analisis yang dilakukan telah mencapai ketiga-tiga objektif kajian ini. </text>

	Cerita rakyat Dayak Kanayatn mencerminkan pelbagai ragam peristiwa kehidupan masyarakatnya yang berhubung kait dengan wold view, ajaran moral, dan pelbagai bentuk kearifan tempatan yang bermanfaat bagi pembinaan minda generasi muda. Pada kenyataannya semakin sedikit komuniti Dayak Kanayatn yang mempusakai cerita rakyatnya. Keadaan ini mendorong pengkaji untuk melestarikan cerita rakyat dengan merakam, mendokumentasikan, dan mengkajinya secara mendalam. Kajian ini difokuskan pada 16 buah cerita yang terkategori sebagai gesah dan singara. Objektif kajian dalam penyelidikan ini adalah menganalisis aspek-aspek kearifan tempatan, mentafsirkan simbol-simbol fizikal daripada kearifan tempatan, dan mentafsirkan simbol-simbol spiritual daripada kearifan tempatan Komuniti Dayak Kanayatn yang wujud dalam cerita rakyat. Pengkaji menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan hermeneutik menurut pemikiran Paul Riceour. Sumber data ialah cerita rakyat. Data dalam penyelidikan ini adalah aspek-aspek kearifan tempatan dan simbol-simbol kearifan tempatan yang wujud dalam kata, ayat, frasa, mahupun paragraph daripada cerita-cerita rakyat. Pemerolehan data dilakukan melalui kajian lapangan dan kajian kepustakaan. Analisis dan pentafsiran dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan konsep simbol, konteks, kearifan tempatan, dan teori hermeneutik. Dapatan  daripada penyelidikan menunjukkan bahawa aspek-aspek kearifan tempatan itu mencakupi pengetahuan tempatan, nilai-nilai tempatan, teknologi dan keterampilan tempatan, sumber daya tempatan, sistem pengambilan keputusan tempatan, dan kesolideran kelompok tempatan. Pentafsiran terhadap simbol-simbol fizikal daripada kearifan telah berjaya memaknai Sembilan belas simbol, iaitu rumah panjang, ladang, dango padi (lumbung), padi, beras, anak lembaran daun, sirih, dango uma (pondok ladang), paca ‘basa’, kepala kayau, senjata dan peralatan pertanian, gasing, perahu, makanan tradisonal, hutan, burung enggang, babi, tikus dan burung pipit, serta burung keto, buria, kutuk dan binatang rasi. </text>

Istilah-istilah panggilan dalam satu komuniti selalunya wujud dalam berbagai-bagai bentuk linguistik dengan peraturan penggunaan yang selalunya bersesuaian dengan sistem sosiobudaya komuniti tersebut. Apabila dalam konteks situasi dan peristiwa komunikasi, penggunaanya menjadi dinamik. Penyelidikan ini ialah mengenai sistem panggilan yang berlaku dalam komuniti bahsa Melayu Sambas yang dilakukan berdasarkan tiga tujuan. Pertama, untuk mengenal pasti sistem panggilan dalam komuniti bahasa Melayu Sambas dalam situasi hubungan kekeluargaan dan hubungan sosial yang intim berdasarkan analisis komponensial. Kedua menganalisis sistem panggilan dalam komuniti tersebut dalam situasi hubungan kekeluargaan dan hubungan sosial yang intimberdasarkan analisis kontekstual. Ketiga, mentafsirkan bagaimana sistem panggilan boleh berhubung kait dengan sistem sosiobudaya komuniti berkenaan. Pendekatan etnografi komunikasi diterapkan dalam pengumpuan data lapangan, khususnya dengan menerapkan teknik pemerhatian partisipan dan bukan partisipan. Besamaan itu, dilakukan pula temuduga tidak berstruktur dan perakaman suara perbualan-perbualan yang diperlukan dengan menggunakan alat perakam suara. Di samping itu, transkripsi dialog yang relevan dipilih daripada beberapa filem yang diproduksi oleh rumah produksi tempatan untuk mengesahkan bagaimana bentuk-bentuk panggilan yang ada digunakan secara kontekstual. Untuk analisis data digunakan dua model analisis. Pertama, model analysis komponensial dan kedua, model analisis kontekstual, mengikut model etnografi komunikasi oleh Dell Hymes. Dapatan penyelidikan ini ialah sebagai berikut: Pertama, bentuk-bentuk panggilan dalam bahasa Melayu Sambas daripada berbagai-bagai bentuk linguistik, meliputi kata nama, kata ganti nama diri kedua, kata nama, jenama kekekluargaan, berbagai-bagai istilah rujukan status sosial, gelaran, dan julukan.</text>
