PKK merupakan salah satu daripada jenis pantun Melayu. PKK dicipta dengan bentuk dan makna  yang ringkas, seiring dengan meningkatnya usia kanak-kanak, tahap perkembangan kognitif, kematangan serta fitrah kanak-kanak yang amat gemar akan bahasa yang mudah dan berirama. Makna dapat disimpulkan dalam bentuk peribahasa, kiasan bahasa dan kata-kata yang pendek, tegas, tetapi luas dan dalam maknanya. Walau apapun jenis pantun yang tercipta, pantun tetap unggul sebagai simbol artistik masyarakat Melayu dan juga lambang kebijaksanaan berfikir. PKK mendukung maksud yang sukar difahami menghalang pembaca kususnya kanak-kanak untuk memahami makna yang hendak disampaikan. Hakikatnya, bukan semua kanak-kanak dapat menguasai pantun dengan mudah apatah lagi bagi kanak-kanak yang memiliki latar belakang bahasa Melayu yang masih rendah. Gaya bahasa dalam PKK sangat ketara penggunaan bahasa sasteranya berbanding puisi Melayu moden kerana banyak menggunakan kata-kata kiasan dan kata-kata yang jarang digunakan dalam pertuturan seharian. Berlandaskan permasalahan kajian, unsur bahasa yang menjadi wadah dalam penciptaan PKK perlu dilihat melalui pendekatan semiotik bagi menemukan pusat makna dalam PKK. Analisis semiotik yang digunakan adalah model semiotik yang diasaskan oleh Michael Riffaterre. Teori SR (1978) dilihat sebagai pendekatan yang sesuai berdasarkan ‘langkah kerja’ yang jelas melalui empat aspek pemaknaan iaitu pertama; ketidaklangsungan eskpresi, kedua; pembacaan heuristik dan pembacaan hermeneutik, ketiga; matriks, model dan varian-variannya serta aspek keempat; hipogram. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasi PKK mengikut tema menggunakan unsur matriks, model dan varian-variannya. Pemilihan tema dibuat berdasarkan cakupan tema merujuk Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah yang dilaksanakan melalui Dokumen Standard Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran Bahasa Melayu. </text>

Budaya kulinari Melayu sentiasa dalam keadaan aktif dari segi inovasi dan tindak balas terhadap pengaruh elemen-elemen kulinari luar negara. Untuk memahami bagaimana cef-cef Melayu bertindak balas terhadap fenomena ini, kajian ini menganalisis berbagai-bagai aktiviti masakan di restoran-restoran terpilih. Kajian ini menggunakan dua kaedah, iaitu kaedah pemerhatian dan temu bual. Implikasi globalisasi melalui berbagai ‘’scape’’dianalisis bertujuan untuk meninjau ciri-ciri globalisasi, iaitu bagaimana ia mempengaruhi dan disesuaikan sebagai tindak balas terhadap trend pemakanan global. Satu permasalahan besar dalam masakan Melayu adalah ketiadaan konsep yang jelas dan kurang daya tarikan. Perkembangan ini menyebabkan cef-cef Melayu berusaha mencari penyelesaian terhadap isu ini. Amalan menyesuaikan makanan asing dengan makanan Melayu baik dari segi teknik mahupun penggayaan dalam kalangan cef-cef Melayu dilihat boleh mendatangkan masalah dari penyelesaian. Setiap cef mempunyai minat yang mendalam terhadap masakan mereka. Sungguhpun begitu mereka terpaksa memilih antara minat dan keuntungan yang boleh dijana dari masakan tersebut. Justeru kajian ini menyarankan penggunaan kaedah ‘scape’ untuk membina lanskap kulinari Melayu yang lengkap. Kerangka lanskap kulinari Melayu ini membolehkan analisi dibuat terhadap masa hadapan masakan Melayu dalam mengharungi era pemodenan. &#13;

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan pemilihan pasangan dan pengendalian majlis perkahwinan orang Melayu Kuala Lumpur, disampai mengenal pasti impak faktor-faktor sosioekonomi terhadap perubahan yang telah berlaku. Lima faktor sosioekonomi, hasil daripada pembandaran yang difokuskan dalam kajian ini ialah, pendidikan, pendapatan, pekerjaan, kediaman dan kedudukan sosioekonomi keluarga. Kajian ini berpandukan kepada Teori Pemodenan dan kerangka konseptual yang diubah suai berdasarkan kerangka teori Edwards (1969a) dan Yaacob Harun (1991) dalam menganalisis implikasi pembandaran terhadap perubahan institusi perkahwinan dan keluarga Melayu bandar. Kajian ini menggabungkan dua kaedah penyelidikan, iaitu keadah kuantitatif dan kaedah kualitatif. Kaedah kuantitatif dijalankan untuk mengumpulkan data-data berbentuk angka dengan menggunakan instrumen soal selidik. Disamping itu, kaedah kualitatif turut dilaksanakan untuk memperoleh data-data yang boleh menyokong hasil dapatan soal selidik dengan menggunakan instrumen kepustakaan, pemerhatian dan temu bual. Dalam kajian ini, Kuala Lumpur telah dipilih sebagai tempat kajian kerana bandar raya ini mempunyai tahap pembandaran yang paling tinggi di Malaysia. Terdapat 107 pasangan Melayu yang merangkumi 214 orang Kuala Lumpur dipilih secara rawak untuk menjawab soal selidik. Selain itu terdapat lagi 14 pasangan Melayu Kuala Lumpur telah ditemu bual secara terperinci.</text>

Kajian ini menganalisis dua buah novel terpili karya Siti Zainon Ismail, iaitu Pulau Renik Ungu (1995) dan Delima Ranting Senja (2009). Analisis dibuat dengan menggunakan teori intertekstualiti oleh Julia Kristeva (1980). Tiga prinsip utama yang terdapat dalam teori intertekstualiti, iaitu prinsip transformasi, prinsip modifikasi dan prinsip ekspansi. Permasalahan kajian bertitik tolak daripada kecenderungan Siti Zainon Ismail berkarya dengan merujuk sumber-sumber asalnya (hipoteks) untuk disesuaikan ke dalam karyanya yang baharu (hiperteks). Hal ini berlaku kerana hubungan peribadi dan persekitaran sangat mempengaruhi kepengarangan Siti Zainon Ismail. Objektif kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti sumber daripada hipoteks, mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip daripada teori intertelstualiti dan menilai faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan pengarang mengaplikasikan ketiga-tiga prinsip tersebut. Metodologi kajian yang diguna pakai adalah kajian kepustakaan dan temu bual. Dapatan kajian pula membuktikan bahawa Siti Zainon Ismail berkarya dengan merujuk sumber hipoteks dan melaksanakan proses transformasi sama ada secara formal atau berbentuk abstrak seperti kerja pemindahan dan penjelmaan episode untuk memperkukuh makna hipoteks. Terdapat juga proses-proses lain seperti penyesuaian, penukaran, peluasan dan pengembangan atau pembaikan daripada teks asal. Hal Ini membolehkan teks asal berubah kepada bentuk baharu sama ada aspek kandungan ataupun pemberian plot penceritaan. Kesimpulannya, melalui pengaplikasian ketiga-tiga prinsip daripada teori intertekstualiti ini membuktikan bahawa pengarang Berjaya mengolah karya hiperteksnya, iaitu menjadi sebuah karya yang mapan daripada pelbagai aspek seperti plot, tema, watak dan bahasa sehingga dapat menarik minat khalayak menghabiskan pembacaan terhadap karya tersebut. </text>

Perkembangan agama Hindu-Buddha di Nusantara pada abad ke-7 Masihi sehingga abad ke- 14 telah menampakkan penularan pengaruh Hinduisme-Buddhisme ke dalam dunia Melayu. Kemasukan pengaruh kebudayaan Hindu-Buddha memberikan impak terutamanya dalam nilai-nilai kebudayaan dan sekaligus mengubah pandangan semesta orang Melayu di Nusantara yang sebelumnya mengamalkan animisme serta agama nenek moyang. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis simbolisme dewa-raja yang bukan hanya dijadikan kultus dalam masyarakat di Asia Tenggara, malah turut tercermin dalam karya kesusasteraan Melayu Klasik. Pengumpulan data dibuat menggunakan sumber primer seperti Hikayat Banjar, Hikayat Parang Puting, Hikayat Sang Boma, Hikayat Panji Semirang dan Hkayat Malim Demam. Pemilihan sampel kajian ini adalah neutral kerana dipilih mengikut genre yang berbeza iaitu sastera sejarah, sastera panji, sastera saduran Hindu dan sastera transisi Islam. Bahan kajian terbatas kepada lima teks sastera klasik Melayu. Karya sastera ini telah dikenal pasti menepati objektif kajian yang akan menonjolkan simbolisme dewa-raja. Hasil kajian akan memperlihatkan kepelbagaian cara kepengarangan digunakan bagi menonjolkan simbolisme dewa-raja dalam menyerlahkan kedaulatan raja-raja Melayu, adaptasi simbolisme dewa-raja dalam budaya istana Melayu seterusnya evolusi dewa-raja dalam kerajaan Melayu. &#13;

Mantera yang diwarisi masyarakat-masyarakat Bajau masih lagi relevan penggunaanya terutama untuk tujuan kecantikan, pengubatan, perlindungan diri dan sebagainya. Oleh yang demikian, kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis mantera dan amalan kecantikan wanita Bajau di daerah Kota Belud Sabah. Pengumpulan data dibuat berdasarkan informan yang dipilih daripada beberapa kawasan kajian. Bahan kajian terdiri daripada pelbagai jenis mantera serta amalan yang berkaitan dengan kecantikan wanita Bajau yang menepati objektif kajian yang dilakukan. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan kaedah pengumpulan data melalui pemerhatian, temu bual dan analisis data. Hasil kajian jelas menunjukkan bahawa wanita Bajau masih lagi menggunakan mantera serta mengamalkan petua-petua bagi menyerlahkan kecantikan dan keterampilan mereka agar mudah diterima oleh masyarakat. Bagi wanita Bajau dengan kecantikan yang dimiliki, seseorang wanita akan dapat memikat kasih sayang daripada anggota keluarga dan masyarakat lain. Ini kerana kecantikan rupa paras yang ditambahkan lagi dengan kecantikan dalaman membuatkan mereka senang diterima oleh anggota keluarga dan juga masyarakat yang merupakan keluarga besar.&#13;

Kajian ini mengenai amalan penjagaan kesihatan masyarakat Melayu yang dilihat dari dua perspektif iaitu untuk memahami pengubatan cara tradisional dan penerimaan masyarakat dengan kaedah tradisional ini. Berdasarkan dua perspektik ini telah menghuraikan tiga objektif iaitu untuk mengenal pasti amalan penjagaan kesihatan tradisional melalui teks Melayu lama. Kedua, menganalisis penerimaan dan penilaian masyarakat di mukim terpilih terhadap amalan penjagaan kesihatan cara tradisional. Ketiga, untuk menilai dan membandingkan perspektif masyarakat terhadap pengamalan tradisi dalam ruang masyarakat tradisi dan ruang masyarakat kini. Metodologi kajian menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Kaedah kualitatif ini menjalankan kajian secara kepustakaan, temu bual, pemerhatian dan perbincangan. Manakala kajian secara servei di Mukim Kechau, Tanjung Besar. Cheka dan Budu dengan seramai 160 orang responden. Kajian ini telah menggunakan dua struktur model iaitu folks dan adptasi perlakuan. Model-model ini digunakan untuk melihat penjagaan kesihatan masyarakat tradisi melalui kitab dan masyarakat hari ini berdasarkan penerimaan amalan tradisi. Hasil dapatan dari kajian kitab telah menghuraikan, penjagaan kesihatan masyarakat ketika itu telah mengunakan kaedah dan rawatan secara nyata seperti azimat, jampi, sumber herba dan sumber fauna. Kedua, kaedah dan rawatan secara tidak nyata seperti ramalan, firasat, penggunaan nama dan unsur mimpi. Bagi hasil dapatan dari penilaian masyarakat hari ini, mendapati kaedah azimat diketepikan manakala rawatannya masih dikekalkan. Berbeza dengan kaedah jampi, sumber herba dan sumber fauna ini masih dikekalkan manakala rawatannya telah diketepikan. Penemuan ini dapat dijelaskan berikutan berlakunya penerimaan unsur-unsur teknologi terhadap sumber dan bahan, organisasi masyarakat telah dikawal oleh sisem pendidikan dan ekonomi seta ideology masyarakat yang terbatas dengan ilmu agama, bersifat saintifik dan logik.</text>

Kajian ini dilakukan untuk mengenal pasti pola kesantunan berbahasa rancangan bual bicara bertajuk ‘’Celik Mata Reset Minda Orang yang Tenang’’ yang disiarkan di radio IKIMfm. Analisis data melibatkan 28 konteks perbualan dalam 10 substruktur yang mencakupi 731 dialog oleh pengacaraan, tetamu undangan, pemanggil dan pengirim dalam tiga struktur (pengenalan, isi dan penutup) bual bicara. Kajian ini dilakukan atas permasalahan kurangnya sumber kajian di peringkat ilmiah yang menggunakan korpus rancangan bual bicara di radio berbahasa Melayu sepenuhnya. Tiga objektif di ketengahkan, iaitu mengenal pasti struktur dan pola kesantunan berbahasa, menganalisis penggunaan pola kombinasi strategi dan maksim rancangan bual bicara, dan menghubung kait pola kombinasi strategi dan maksim dengan kesantunan Melayu. Dua teori, iaitu Model Kesantunan Brown dan Levinson (1987) dan Prinsip Kerjasama (PK) Gris (1975) diaplikasi, yang kemudiannya dikombinasikan untuk membentuk Model Pola Kombinasi Strategi dan Maksim (MPKSM). MPKSM membentuk empat pola kombinasi strategi yang mengandungi P1, P2, P3 sebagai pola teras dan pola opsyenal, iaitu Pola A, Pola B, Pola C dan Pola D diikuti dengan padanan maksim PK tertentu. P1 yang mewakili Strategi Berekod Tanpa Penyesuaian sentiasa menjadi pola opsyenal manakala P2 (Strategi Kesantunan Positif dan strategi Kesantunan Negatif) pula sentiasa menjadi pola teras. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memberi struktur asas linguistik  kepada Bahasa Bidayuh-Somu yang masih dalam bentuk lisan serta belum pernah dilakukan kajian sepenuhnya. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini akan memberi tumpuan kepada bidang morfologi yang akan menghuraikan kata dalam bahasa berkaitan. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk kajian ini ialah pendekatan struktur Bloomfield (1993), iaitu struktur kata terdiri daripada bentuk bebas atau morfem bebas dan bentuk terikat atau morfem terikat dan variasi-variasinya. Kaedah yang digunakan untuk kajian ini adalah kaedah kajian lapangan huluan untuk mendapatkan tuturan-tuturan asli dari Bahasa Bidayuh-Somu. Data kajian selanjutnya ditranskripsikan secara fonemik untuk memberikan lambang kepada bunyi-bunyi yang wujud dalam pertuturan dan seterusnya diisih menurut bentuk kaya yang wujud. Tumpuan diberikan kepada bentuk kata kompleks yang terhasil melalui proses morfologi yang berlaku. Berdasarkan analisis, didapati proses pembinaan kata kompleks dalam Bahasa-Somu wujud melalui proses nasalisasi, pengimbuhan dan penggandaan. Setiap kata yang terhasil akan dikategorikan kepada kata namaan dan kata karyaan. Berdasarkan binaan pula, didapati kata kompleks dalam bahasa ini mempunyai strukturnya sendiri, iaitu terdiri daripada unsur-unsur morfem bebas dan morfem terikat serta variasi-variasinya. Setiap morfem boleh berfungsi sebagai penetap atau pengubah golongan kata. Berdasarkan hasil kajian, didapati morfem terikat yang terdapat dalam bahasa ini boleh terdiri daripada morfem awalan, sisipan serta morfem terikat terbahagi dan setiap morfem secara amnya mendukung makna-makna tertentu. </text>

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menilai keunggulan kepengarangan Faisal Tehrani berdasarkan novel-novel terpilihnya. Keunggulan yang diraih akan meletakkan dirinya pada kedudukan tersendiri dan membezakan dengan pengarang yang lain. Bagi mencapai tujuan tersebut, kajian ini menganalisis tujuh buah novel, iaitu Perempuan Politikus Melayu (2000), 1515 (2003), 1511 h [Kombat] (2004), Surat-surat Perempuan Johor (2005), Tunggu Teduh Dulu (2008), Bahlut (2010) dan Bagaimana Anyss Naik Ke Langit (2016). Kaedah kajian yang dijalankan adalah bersifat kualitatif yang menganalisis teks dan kerja lapangan. Teori yang digunakan ialah Teori Teksdealisme (2006) yang digagaskan oleh Mana Sikana. Teori ini menetapkan empat prinsip bagi menganalisis keunggulan, iaitu prinsip kehadiran, perlanggaran, pengukuhan dan individualisme. Semua prinsip Teori Teksdealisme diaplikasikan bagi menilai tahap keunggulan Faisal Tehrani. Pencapaian keunggulan terbahagi kepada tiga tahap, iaitu rendah (lemah), separa (sederhana) dan tinggi. Dalam prinsip kehadiran menunjukkan bahawa novel-novel kajian bersumberkan kehadiran daripada pengalaman, pengembaraan, pengkajian, pembacaan dan isu-isu semasa. Bagi prinsip perlanggaran menunjukkan perlanggaran dari aspek tema, watak, latar, aliran dan teknik penceritaan. Prinsip pengukuhan pula menunjukkan pengukuhan dari aspek pemikiran, subjek, watak, isu mini naratif, aliran, teknik penceritaan, latar, penggunaan fakta dan sumber sokongan. Prinsip individualisme yang membina identiti kepengarangan adalah aspek subjektiviti, stail individu, kedirian individu dan tindakan individu. Kajian mendapati, terdapat satu lagi aspek yang membina individualisme pengarang, iaitu sensitiviti dan kreativiti. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa, Faisal Tehrani mencapai tahap keunggulan yang tinggi berdasarkan novel-novel kajian. Namun begitu, tahap keunggulan tersebut akan mengalami perubahan kerana akan ditentukan oleh karya-karya seterusnya.&#13;

Kehadiran seniman Melayu yang mendapat pendidikan seni moden barat pada sekitar tahun selepas merdeka khususnya bermula 1970an hingga 1990an menarik perhatian kepada penyelidikan ini. Penyelidikan ini merupakan kajian berkaitan pengolahan seni cetak Malaysia dari tahun 1970an hingga 1999. Pada dekat ini, perkembangan seni tanah air dikatakan sebagai era krisis identiti, tradisi dan kemodenan. Maka satu bentuk seni baharu dari gabungan bentuk seni rupa moden dan tradisi berkembang dengan giatnya. Keadaan ini dipercayai ekoran daripada peralihan perspektif seni visual tempatan dari ‘’seni demi seni’’ dan masyarakat’’ yang dicetuskan oleh Konggres Kebudayaan Kebangsaan, 1971 (KKK). Kesan daripada fenomena ini, banyak simbol budaya seperti pucuk rebung, keris, kerawang dan sebagainya muncul dalam karya seni cetak tempatan. Maka pengolahan karya seniman Melayu yang dikatakan kebaratan ini menjadi focus kajian ini. Tiga objektif penyelidikan iaitu mengenal pasti gaya, mengenalisis tema dan mensintesis simbol budaya yang terdapat dalam cetakan oleh para seniman Melayu tempatan sebagai aspek penelitian utama dalam penyelidikan ini. Kajian bercirikan penyelidikan kualitatif dengan metod analisis observasi serta penelitian perpustakaan. Teori apresiasi seni ikonografi Erwin Panofsky digunakan sebagai kerangka teoritis analisis karya. Penemuan kajian merumuskan walaupun karya cetakan mengaplikasi pelbagai gaya aliran antarabangsa dari barat tetapi ianya diubahsuai dengan menampilkan simbol budaya tempatan. Maka lahirlah bentuk karya dari gabungan estetika barat, tradisi dan Islam. Manakala segi aspek tema, kecenderungan seniman Melayu kearah nilai tradisi dan budaya tempatan dengan mengetengahkan tema berunsur kerohanian, leluhur, budaya dan bahasa yang seiring dengan hasrat KKK.</text>

Tesis ini membincangkan terminologi seni tenun Melayu dari aspek sosioterminologi dan sosioterminografi. Istilah ‘sosioterminologi’ pertama kali digunakan oleh Jeanclaude Boulanger (1981-1982), berasal dari Quebec, Kanada yang menggabungkan aplikasi sosilinguistik dengan terminologi. Gaudin (1983) dari Perancis pula mencadangkan penyerapan prinsip sosiololinguistik kepada teori terminologi. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengenal pasti variasi istilah berdasarkan latar belakang konteks penggunaan yang berbeza. Isu yang sering dijadikan permasalah berkaitan dengan fungsi bahasa Melayu sebagai alat atau saranan pengembangan ilmu yang seharusnya dilihat dalam konteks perancangan bahasa khususnya dalam bidang teknologi tinggi. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti istilah berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip sosioterminografi, menganalisis peta konsep dan sistem konsep dalam penyediaan takrif, dan menyusun data terminografi sebagai kamus istilah berilustrasi seni tenun Melayu. Teori yang diterapkan ialah prinsip sosioterminologi dalam Practical for Socioterminologi dan Teori Umum Terminologi (TUT). Selain itu, pengkaji mengaplikasi panduan dalam Pedoman Umum Pembentukan Istilah (DBP) (2004), Panduan Menyusu Kamus Istilah (DBP) (1992), prinsip pentakrifan Sager (1995) dan Hartmann (1984). Pendekatan kajian ialah deskriptif kualitatif, iaitu melaksanakan pengumpulan data berdasarkan kajian kepustakaan dan kajian lapangan, manakala instrumen ialah temu bual tidak berstruktur dan pemerhatian di lapangan. Sejumlah 403 istilah telah terkumpul dan dianalisis bagi mendapatkan satu senarai istilah dan takrif yang merupakan data terminografi bagi penyusunan kamus istilah berilustrasi seni tenun Melayu. Pengkaji juga telah menganalisis data untuk menetapkan istilah dan hubungan istilah dalam sistem konsep. Seterusnya penganalisisan klasifikasi takrif dan menyusun senarai masukan dan takrif bagi sebuah kamus istilah berilustrasi seni tenun Melayu. Dalam konteks pembentukan budaya ilmu, kajian ini telah mengetengahkan kearifan tempatan dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu khususnya dari segi terminologi agar dapat mengangkat bahasa Melayu menjadi bahasa ilmu teknologi tinggi.&#13;
