Penemuan ini penting untuk menjawab pernyataan yang dikemukakan oleh lda Nicolaisen (2015) yang menyatakan kesedaran generasi muda Punan Bah terhadap perubahan yang berlaku di Sarawak bukan sahaja mengubah cara hidup mereka malah akan menyebabkan kebudayaan tradisional mereka hilang. Pernyataan tersebut memberi gambaran kritikal terhadap perubahan yang berlaku dalam adat asal Punan Bah, termasuklah adat pengkebumian. Dengan menjelaskan secara menyeluruh perubahan yang berlaku dalam adat pengkebumian Punan Bah akhirnya, membentuk satu sintesis penolakan dan penerimaan sifat kebudayaan sebagai fenomena yang sering beradaptasi dengan keadaan semasa. Seterusnya, pendekatan kualitatif menerusi kerja lapangan yang telah dijalankan daripada awal bulan Januari hingga pertengahan bulan Jun tahun 2014 beserta dengan teknik persampelan bebola salji merupakan kaedah utama yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data kajian. Untuk itu, data dikumpul melalui pemerhatian tidak turut serta. pemerhatian turut serta dan temu bual bersama tokoh yang arif tentang adat asal Punan Bah. Pengesahan data daripada responden utama telah dibuat dengan lawatan semula ke kawasan kajian pada 25 Disember 2017. Data yang diperolehi seterusnya dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan relativisme budaya dan holistik berpandukan teori konflik yang telah ditetapkan. Kajian ini mendapati adat asal pengkebumian Punan Bah tidak lagi diamalkan dan perubahan yang berlaku bukan sahaja dari segi bentuk fizikal malah nilai yang terkandung dalam adat turut berubah. Perubahan yang berlaku sekaligus mengubah kepentingan komuniti kepada kepentingan organik. Akhir sekali, maklumat penting yang terhasil daripada rekabentuk kerangka konseptual dapat menyemai minat untuk mendalami dan menghargai kebudayaan asal masing-masing kerana dengan pengetahuan budaya yang ada, kebudayaan tradisional akan kekal terpelihara sejajar dengan arus pemodenan dan globalisasi dunia. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti aspek kohesi dalam ruangan pojok, mengkategorikan jenis kohesi dalam ruangan pojok dan menganalisis fungsi kohesi dalam ruangan pojok. Hasil kajian mendapati wujud empat aspek kohesi nahuan dalam data, iaitu rujukan, penggantian, penghilangan dan penghubung. Keempat-empat aspek kohesi nahuan tersebut berfungsi untuk mempertaut idea dalam teks supaya dapat difahami oleh pembaca. Sementara itu, dua aspek kohesi leksikal yang melibatkan pernyataan semula leksikal dan leksikal berkolokasi turut wujud dalam teks dan memainkan peranan penting dalam membentuk jalinan makna yang bersepadu dan berstruktur dalam data. Keupayaan pengarang ruangan pojok memanfaatkan kedua-dua aspek kohesi ini menjadikan artikel Awang Selamat mudah difahami dan sangat menarik untuk dibaca. Kajian aspek kohesi ini diharapkan dapat memberi panduan kepada pengkaji bahasa yang lain untuk memahami aspek kohesi dengan lebih mendalam. Dengan menerapkan Teori Konseptual - Kata Kunci ini, sebanyak 32 cerpen dianalisis untuk mengenal pasti konseptual Norsiah Abdul Gapar berhubung dengan konsep kemiskinan dan konsep perjuangan. Hasil daripada kajian yan Kata dijalankan, membuktikan bahawa pengaruh penghasilan karya-karya Norsiah Abdul Gapar itu dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang Norsiah Abdul Gapar terutamanya dalam perkara-perkara yang berhubung dengan konsep kemiskinan dan konsep perjuangan. Dalam konsep kemiskinan, bentuk kemiskinan itu dikaitkan dengan kemiskinan yang berbentuk fizikal. Manakala, dalam konsep perjuangan, perjuangan itu dikaitkan dengan perjuangan kaum wanita. Kajian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tahap penguasaan membaca muridmurid Tahun 1 di SK Pauh Jaya, Pulau Pinang melalui Program LINUS-Literasi. Seramai 103 subjek kajian yang telah menjadi sampel dalam kajian ini. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tahap pencapaian membaca murid-murid dalam Saringan 1 dan Saringan 2 LINUS-Literasi. Selain itu, masalah penguasaan membaca dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penguasaan membaca murid turut dihuraikan. Kajian yang dilakukan berbentuk kajian eksperimen dan dihuraikan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pendekatan kajian kepustakaan dan kajian lapangan dilaksanakan untuk mendapatkan data-data kajian. Data-data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan kaedah arimetik, iaitu tambah, tolak, darab dan bahagi dengan menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Excel 2013. Tahap penguasaan membaca murid-murid linus menunjukkan peningkatan dalam Saringan 2 berbanding Saringan 1 dan tahap pemahaman bacaan murid-murid linus berada dalam kategori baik. Hal ini terbukti apabila berlakunya peningkatan bilangan murid yang berada dalam kategori Arus Perdana semasa Saringan 2. Berlakunya peningkatan seramai 30 orang subjek kajian atau mewakili kenaikan sebanyak S6.6 peratus menjadikan murid yang berada dalam kategori ini seramai 83 orang semasa Saringan 2 berbanding 53 orang semasa Saringan 1. Peningkatan ini menyebabkan jumlah murid yang berada dalam kategori Linus dan Linus Tegar menurun. Bilangan subjek kajian dalam kategori Linus menurun sebanyak -53.7 peratus, manakala bagi kategori Linus Tegar pula menurun sebanyak -88.9 peratus. Hanya tinggal seorang sahaja subjek kajian yang tidak dapat menguasai Konstruk 1 dan Konstruk 2 semasa Saringan 2 berlangsung menyebabkan murid berada dalam kategori Linus Tegar. Dalam kajian ini, terdapat beberapa masalah yang menyebabkan murid tidak dapat menguasai pembacaan dengan baik, iaitu kemahiran kognitif murid yang lemah, ketidakbolehan untuk mentafsir simbol dan huruf serta sikap murid yang mudah hilang tumpuan dalam pembelajaran dan mempunyai daya ingatan yang singkat. Berdasarkan kajian yang dilakukan, pengkaji juga dapat mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tahap penguasaan membaca dalam kalangan murid-murid Tahun 1. Terdapat tiga faktor utama yang mempengaruhi tahap penguasaan murid, iaitu guru, murid dan ibu bapa yang menjadi fokus dalam kajian ini. Oleh itu, berdasarkan rumusan ini pengkaji berharap agar masalah-masalah yang dihadapi oleh subjek kajian dapat diatasi. Beberapa cadangan kepada pihak-pihak tertentu juga disarankan supaya masalah yang dihadapi oleh murid-murid Tahun 1 dalam membaca dan menulis kosa kata asas bahasa Melayu dapat diatasi.
