Kaiian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti kata adverba yang sudah lama menimbulkan orseslan dalam dunia bahasa Melayu. Ramai tokoh bahasa berbincang dan berdebat tentang gejala kata adverba. Namun, perbincangan tersebut tidak membawa kepada satu kata putus yang dapat menangani perSoalan tentang kata adverba. Maka, kajian ini menghalusi data kata adverba yang diperoleh daripada novel Azfa Hanani karangan Halis Azhan Mohd Hanafiah, terbitan edisi pelajar 2010. Reka bentuk kajian berbentuk deskriptif. Kajian ini menggunakan dua kaedah, iaitu kaedah kajian kepustakaan dan kaedah kajian teks. Sebanyak 303 data kata adverba dikenal pasti daripada bahan kajian. Data kata adverba yang dikumpulkan dibahagikan kepada bentuk kata adverba menggunakan pendekatan sintagmatik dan paradigmatik. Empat bentuk kata adverba dapat diklasifikasikan berdasarkan data dalam kajian, iaitu kata adverba bentuk jati, kata adverba asalnya kata adjektif, kata adverba asalnya kata kerja dan kata adverba gandaan. Berasaskan pengertian dan huraian tokoh-tokoh bahasa Melayu, data kajian dikategorikan kepada tujuh jenis, iaitu kata adverba cara, kata adverba masa, kata adverba kekerapan, kata adverba kesungguhan, kata adverba sifat perasaan, kata adverba ketidakpastian dan kata adverba jarak. Bagi menganalisis kedudukan kata adverba dalam binaan ayat, teknik rajah pohon daripada teori Transformasi-Generatif yang diperkenalkan oleh Noam Chomsky digunakan. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa kedudukan kata adverba adalah dalam frasa subjek, frasa predikat dan bahagian bahagian predikat. Dapat disimpulkan bahawa kata adverba berfungsi sebagai penerang kepada kata nama/frasa nama, kata kerja/frasa kerja, kata adjektif/frasa adjektif, frasa sendi nama, kata adverba lain dan kepada ayat. &#13;

Kajian tentang frasa keterangan dalam bahasa Melayu ini dilakukan ckoran darinada kurangnya penckanan terhadap binaan frasa oleh sebab lebih banyak tumpuan diberikan kepada aspek ayat. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti jenis-jenis frasa keterangan yang hadir dalam bahan kajian, iaitu majalah Pelita Bahasa. Terdapat lanan jenis frasa keterangan yang dikenal pasti dalam bahan kajian, iaitu keterangan tempat atau arah, keterangan waktu, keterangan cara, keterangan tujuan atau harapan, keterangan alat, keterangan penyertaan, keterangan hal dan ketcrangan bagai. Frasa keterangan tempat dan waktu mencatatkan jumlah yang paling banyak dalam dapatan kajian. Kebanyakan jenis frasa keterangan yang ditemui berbentuk frasa sendi nama menggunakan kata sendi nama yang berfungsi sebagai keterangan kepada frasa. Antara kata sendi nama yang digunakan ialah dengan, ke, di, dalam, daripada, sebagai, terhadap dan seperti. Selain itu, terdapat juga frasa keterangan berbentuk frasa nama dan frasa adjektif. Kajian ini juga menganalisis aspek binaan frasa keterangan dari segi jumlah perkataan, iaitu satu perkataan, dua perkataan, tiga perkataan, empat perkataan atau lebih dan bentuk deretan frasa. Binaan bentuk tiga perkataan dan deretan dua frasa merupakan binaan yang paling banyak ditemui. Di samping itu, turut dihuraikan ialah kehadiran frasa keterangan dalam dua keadaan, iaitu dalam subjek dan predikat. Seterusnya, kehadiran frasa keterangan dihuraikan dari segi susunan ayat, iaitu susunan ayat biasa dan susunan ayat songsang. Kajian ini berlandaskan pendekatan Tatabahasa Transformasi Generatif yang telah diaplikasikan dalam Tatabahasa Dewan (2010). Analisis penggunaan frasa dalam bahan kajian digambarkan melalui teknik rajah pohon. Kajian ini membuktikan bahawa binaan frasa keterangan merupakan satu aspek sintaksis yang wajar dikaji dengan lebih mendalam. </text>

Kajian ini menganalisis skip filem sebagai satu genre kesusasteraan, seperti juga genre cerpen, novel,puisi dan lain-lain. Skrip filem meliputi pengolahan aspek cerita, tema dan pemikiran, watak dan perwatakan, plot dan gaya bahasa. Namun sehingga kini belum terdapat kajian yang mengaplikasi teori sastera dalam menganalisis skrip filem. Kajian ini memilih skrip filem komedi arahan Seniman Agung P. Ramlee, iaitu Bujang Lapok, Ali Baba Bujang Lapok dan Masam-masam Manis sebagai data kajian. Untuk tujuan analisis, kajian ini menggunakan teori Kritik Feminis bagi membahaskan ciri-ciri stereotaip pada watak-watak wanita dalam skrip filem yang dikaji. Objektif kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti isu-isu masyarakat yang berkaitan dengan wanita dalam skrip, untuk menganalisis sikap dan pandangan P. Ramlee sendiri terhadap kedudukan wanita dalam masyarakat menggunakan teori Kritik Feminis, di samping untuk menilai sejauh mana teori Kritik Feminis sesuai digunakan bagi membincangkan isu-isu wanita dalam skrip filem P. Ramlee, terutama daripada genre komedi. Berdasarkan analisis, didapati P. Ramlee adalah seorang seniman beraliran feminis yang mengangkat watak-watak wanita ke satu tahap yang lebih positif melalui skrip filemnya. Kajian ini juga merumuskan bahawa genre komedi adalah medium yang sesuai dan berhasil menyerlahkan kekuatan dan keupayaan wanita mengharungi cabaran semasa dalam masyarakat yang melingkungi mereka pada zaman karya tersebut dihasilkan. </text>

Disertasi ini membincangkan kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat dalam buku Pemimpin dalam Ungkapan Melayu (2000) karya Tenas Effendy. Kajian ini menyenaraikan sebanyak tiga objektif, iaitu mengenal pasti ciri-ciri kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat dalam bahan kajian; menganalisis ciri-ciri kesantunan berbahasa dalam ungkapan Melayu; dan menghuraikan nilai dan pengajaran yang terdapat dalam bahan kajian. Prinsip Kesopanan Leech (1993) telah dipilih sebagai teori dalam menjalankan kajian ini. Leech (1993) telah menyenaraikan enam maksim yang terdapat dalam Prinsip Kesopanan ini, iaitu maksim santun, maksim kedermawanan, maksim sokongan, maksim kerendahan hati, maksim persetujuan, dan maksim simpati. Buku Pemimpin dalam Ungkapan Melayu (2000) karya Tenas Effendy telah digunakan sebagai bahan kajian dalam menjalankan kajian ini. Kaedah kajian teks dan kepustakaan digunakan dalam proses pengumpulan data. Analisis data secara kualitatif digunakan bagi mendapatkan hasil dapatan yang berkesan. Kajian ini dapat memberi pendedahan kepada masyarakat, khususnya generasi muda tentang aspek kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat dalam ungkapan Melayu. Hasil kajian ini mendapati buku Pemimpin dalam Ungkapan Melayu (2000) karya Tenas Effendy mempunyai ciri-ciri kesantunan yang tinggi. Di samping itu juga, bahan kajian ini turut mengandungi nilai dan pengajaran yang berguna kepada pemimpin dan bakal pemimpin serta masyarakat. </text>

Kaiian ini mengenai Etika Pemakaian Busana Melayu yang memberi tumpuan terhadap pemakaian dalam tari pergaulan Melayu (tarian rakyat) iaitu tarian inang, joget, asli dan zapin. Busana Melayu mempunyai adat yang tersendiri dalam cara pemakaiannya. Tari pergaulan Melayu merupakan satu platform dalam mengekalkan etika berbusana Melayu. Tari pergaulan Melayu yang terdapat dalam kelompok tari Melayu telah mengalami banyak perubahan dari segi pemakaian busananya sehingga menyebabkan adat pemakaian kurang mengikut aturan. Pengkaji membincangkan tesis ini dengan mengaitkan pengetahuan, umur, pengalaman, bangsa dan status yang dimiliki oleh pihak yang dikaji. Mereka terdiri daripada pengiat seni tari pergaulan Melayu yang mengambil bahagian dalam persembahan pentas secara terbuka sejak adanya pertandingan tari kreasi dalam Festival Tari Kebangsaan. Kajian ini memberi tumpuan kepada peniruan busana tari yang berlaku iaitu busana tari pergaulan Melayu meniru gaya busana tari kreasi dalam persembahan. Penekanan diberikan terhadap punca berlakunya perubahan tersebut. Pengkaji menggunakan pendekatan bidang antropologi budaya dan seni persembahan dalam membuat kajian. Penggunaan teori Homi Bhabha dalam konteks pasca-kolonial digunakan dan akan membuktikan hasil kajian yang menyatakan peniruan ialah penyamaran, bukan satu perkara yang mengharmonikan malah merosakkan. Homi Bhabha menyatakan peniruan akan merosakkan simbol sesuatu budaya, melahirkan bentuk budaya baharu yang samar dan menghilangkan nilai sesuatu budaya. Peniruan telah mengubah adab penari tari pergaulan Melayu terhadap adat pemakaian busana Melayu yang sebenarnya dan tidak secara langsung mengubah gerak tari itu yang boleh menyebabkan mereka tidak beretika. Hal ini disokong oleh Victor Turner yang  menyatakan tentang simbol iaitu "Tari" dan "Busana Melayu" adalah simbol Melavu. Simbol dilihat dalam bentuk objek, kebendaan, perbuatan, tingkah laku, hubungan sOsial, kejadian, gerakan badan, ruang, tempat dan ucapan. Simbol ialah objek tindakan, konsep untuk kepelbagaian makna yang berbeza, instrumen suara yang membangkitkan sentimen emosi, komunikasi pengetahuan dan kawalan. Simbol berhubung kait dengan kepentingan, maksud, tujuan dan kemanusiaan. Maklumat kajian menggunakan rujukan sekunder dan membuat kajian lapangan. kajian diperolehi melalui penyelidikan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metodologi Di akhir kajian ini dapat membuktikan bahawa perubahan yang berlaku disebabkan oleh peniruan tanpa pengetahuan yang dilakukan oleh penata busana tari pergaulan Melayu. </text>

Tesis ini mengkaji seni persembahan tradisi Begendang Sarawak. Persembahan gendang Sarawak merupakan persembahan tradisi rakyat khususnya bagi masyarakat Melayu di Sarawak. Kajian ini meneliti proses perubahan yang berlaku antara persembahan begendang tradisi dengan yang baharu. Proses perubahan yang berlaku melalui kajian ini menunjukkan persembahan ini mempunyai perbezaan yang amat ketara dalam konstruk strukturnya. Persembahan tradisi telah diamalkan sejak sebelum zaman British di kampung-kampung di Sarawak sebagai hiburan untuk memeriahkan keraian majlis-majlis terutamanya majlis perkahwinan. Hakikatnya persembahan tradisi ini perlu digerakkan oleh generasi muda sebagai menggantikan aktivis budaya yang telah tua dan tidak upaya untuk bergerak aktif lagi. Tesis ini mengkaji proses perubahan yang berlaku dalam konstruk struktur persembahan secara perbandingan antara kumpulan Indera Samudera Kenyalang di Kampung Tabuan Hilir, Kuching dengan Kampung Budaya Sarawak, (sebuah muzium budaya) di Santubong. Pendekatan rekonstruksi menjadi panduan kajian dengan menggunakan kaedah penyelidikan yang diaplikasikan berbentuk kualitatif melalui teknik kajian etnografi secara temu bual dan pemerhatian ikut serta melalui kajian lapangan. Dapat dirumuskan daripada tesis ini bahawa persembahan tradisi mengalami perubahan secara berterusan untuk berkembang dan bertahan dalam masyarakat. Hakikatnya persembahan di Kampung Budaya Sarawak bahkan melalui proses rekonstruksi yang lebih nyata dan setelah di struktur semula, persembahan yang baharu itu menjadi repertoir utama persembahan. </text>

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti gaya pembclajaran, tahap kefahaman pembelajaran dan kesediaan belajar kanak-kanak lembam. Lima orang subjek kajian dipilih berdasarkan laporan pakar perubatan yang mengesahkan subjek kajian mengalami masalah lembam dan ditempatkan di bawah seliaan PPKI. Kajjan ini menerapkan Teori Konstruktivisme Sosial Vygotsky (1896-1934) dan gabungan kaedah penyelidikan kajian kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil kajian diperoleh berdasarkan pemerhatian berstruktur serta ujian dan dianalisis menggunakan frekuensi dan peratusan. Hasil kajian berdasarkan pemerhatian mendapati gaya pembelajaran visual sebanyak 30%, auditori 17% dan kinestetik 17%. Berdasarkan kefahaman pembelajaran bahasa Melayu, dari segi huruf sebanyak 75.3% (pemerhatian) dan 94% (ujian), suku kata menunjukkan sebanyak 66% (pemerhatian) dan 90.5% (ujian) serta dari segi perkataan menunjukkan sebanyak 12% (pemerhatian) yang dapat membaca dan menulis dengan baik dan 78.5% (ujian). Hasil dapatan berdasarkan pemerhatian terhadap kesediaan belajar menunjukkan kesediaan kognitif sebanyak 22.9%, kesediaan afektif 24.8% dan kesediaan psikomotor 29.7%. Kesimpulannya, gaya pembelajaran yang paling dominan dalan kalangan kanak-kanak lembam ialah gaya pembelajaran visual. Dalam aspek kefahaman, pemerhatian menunjukkan kanak-kanak berada pada tahap sederhana. Namun begitu, berdasarkan ujian aspek huruf dan suku kata boleh dikuasai oleh kanak-kanak lembam tetapi dalam aspek perkataan mereka berada pada tahap sederhana khususnya, dalam proses membaca dan menulis. Dari segi kesediaan belajar, kanak-kanak lembam mempunyai kesediaan belajar tetapi berada pada tahap sederhana sama ada dari segi kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor. Oleh itu, penekanan terhadap gaya pembelajaran visual boleh membantu meningkatkan tahap kefahaman pembelajaran kanak-kanak lembam dalam aspek huruf, suku kata dan perkataan. </text>

Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses penciptaan semula (reinvention) berdasarkan kepada perubahan dan perbezaan dalam persembahan Joget Gamelan di istana dan di luar istana. Joget Gamelan merupakan sebuah Tarian Klasik Istana yang dahulunya dipersembahkan sempena majlis rasmi di raja seperti perkahwinan, pertabalan, berkhatan dan bertindik. Untuk tujuan kajian, penciptaan (invention) dan penciptaan semula bentuk Joget Gamelan akan dijelaskan hanya melalui analisis terhadap tiga bentuk Joget Gamelan iaitu Joget Gamelan Perang Manggung. Kundang-kundang Mabuk dan Topeng. Pengkaji menggunakan manuskrip yang di tulis oleh Tengku Ampuan Mariam sebagai teks tarian, dan turut meneliti penciptaan semula struktur pergerakan Joget Gamelan sebagai gerak tari yang dipelajari oleh Zaharah Abdul Hamid dan Wan Salmah Sulaiman. Penggunaan teori penciptaan oleh Eric Hobsbawm digunakan bagi melihat proses penciptaan dan penciptaan semula yang berlaku dalam ketiga-tiga bentuk Joget Gamelan tersebut. Secara emik dan diakroniknya, tesis ini akan meninjau sejarah dan latarbelakang Joget Gamelan Terengganu bagi melihat bagaimana proses penciptaan dan penciptaan semula berlaku seterusnya mengkategorikan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan perubahan dalam versi Zaharah Abdul Hamid dan Wan Salmah Sulaiman. Peribahasa merupakan khazanah sastera tradisional yang sangat berharga bagi masyarakat Melayu. Masyarakat Melayu menggunakan kebijaksanaan pemikiran mereka dengan meneliti unsur alam dan melahirkannya dalam bentuk ungkapan yang indah sehingga melahirkan peribahasa. Disertasi ini melihat unsur alam, iaitu padi' dan 'air' yang menjadi tanda dalam kehidupan masyarakat Melayu. Kedua-dua unsur ini mempunyai tanda-tanda yang tertentu kepada masyarakat. Teori Pengkaedahan Melayu, iaitu sebuah teori sastera tempatan dengan berfokuskan kepada Pengkaedahan Alamiah dan Pendekatan Firasat digunakan sebagai kerangka teori. Perkaitan rapat antara hasil kesusasteraan dengan alam serta teori tempatan yang berteraskan pemikiran, budaya Melayu serta agama Islam membolehkan semua ini disatukan dalam disertasi ini. Proses ini akhirnya akan membawa matlamat kepada paksi Teori Pengkaedahan Melayu, iaitu untuk mencapai kebajikan, ketakwaan dan kesusilaan. Dalam disertasi ini, pengkaji mengenal pasti tanda yang terdapat dalam unsur alam, iaitu air dan padi melalui buku Peribahasa Melayu: Penelitian Makna dan Nilai. Makna yang terdapat dalam peribahasa tersebut dianalisis dan merumuskan peranan air dan padi dalam kehidupan orang Melayu. Dalam kajian ini, dapat dirumuskan bahawa padi dan air dalam peribahasa Melayu memberikan tanda-tanda yang tertentu kepada masyarakat Melayu. Padi dalam peribahasa Melayu memberikan tanda hubungan persaudaraan dan kekeluargaan, tanda pembinaan akhlak yang baik dan tanda sumber rezeki. Manakala air sebagai tanda pula dilihat sebagai tanda penyucian yang dibahagikan kepada penyucian melalui tanda pendidikan dan tanda persaudaraan dan perdamaian. Berdasarkan tanda-tanda yang terdapat pada unsur padi dan air tersebut, dapat dibuktikan bahawa peribahasa merupakan suatu wadah dalam pembentukan masyarakat kerana tanda-tanda tersebut mengarah kepada pembinaan akhlak masyarakat. Peribahasa juga menjadi mekanisme yang mengawal masyarakat supaya mempunyai nilai dan norma. </text>

Salah satu tumpuan dalam bidang morfologi ialah pembentukan kata, iaitu langkah penciptaan perkataan baharu dalam bahasa, yang dapat dibahagikan kepada proses morfologi atau morfologikal dan submorfologi atau submorfologikal. Disertasi ini merupakan sebuah kajian morfologi yang bermatlamat untuk mencari satu huraian berkenaan proses morfologi bahasa Melayu yang tuntas dan menghasilkan satu model teori proses pembentukan kata morfologi bahasa Melayu tersendiri. Kajian ini menerapkan pendekatan cklektik yang mensintesiskan tiga teori proses morfologi sarjana bahasa Melayu terdahulu. Untuk menguji kemampuan serta keandalan model teori kajian, model teori proses morfologi tersebut telah diaplikasikan dalam penganalisisan data kajian yang terdiri daripada kata kompleks daripada morfem dasar terikat. Dalam waktu yang sama, kajian ini juga telah mengumpulkan morfem dasar terikat, iaitu morfem unik dalam bahasa Melayu, berserta kata kompleksnya, selengkap mungkin. Dapatan daripada analisis data menujukkan model teori kajian mampu menerangkan proses pembentukan kata yang telah dialami morfem dasar terikat schingga menerbitkan kata kompleks. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat beberapa jenis proses morfologi dalam model teori kajian yang tidak dapat diuji kerana data kajian tidak terhasil daripada proses pembentukan kata tersebut. Selain itu, analisis data juga telah menemui beberapa proses pembentukan kata yang mencipta kata kompleks daripada morfem dasar terikat yang tidak terdapat dalam model teori kajian ini. Setelah modcl tcori dinilai semula dan diperbaiki berdasarkan analisis data dan penemuan penemuan baharu, maka dapat dirumuskan yang model teori proses morfologi pembentukan kata yang terdiri daripada pengimbuhan, penggandaan, pemajmukan, dan pengacukan ini mampu menjelaskan kejadian pembentukan kata dalam bahasa Melayu yang berlandaskan mekanisme penggabungan. </text>
