Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahawa proses semantik kata kerja bahasa Indonesia dan Jerman mempunyai makna: (1) tindakan/perbuatan (Tätigkeitsverben), (2) proses (Vorgangsverben), (3) keadaan (Zustandveben), dan (4) pengalaman (Erfahrungsverben). Daripada hasil ini, terdapat beberapa persamaan antara kedua-dua bahasa tersebut, tetapi dalam proses pembinaan ayat, bahasa Jerman mempunyai corak yang jauh lebih rumit kerana terdapat banyak aspek yang mesti diambil kira, seperti bentuk kata kerja (trennbar, untrennbar, trennbaruntrennbar), konjugasi kata kerja, sama ada kata kerja biasa (regelmäßige Verben) atau tidak teratur (unregelmäßige Verben), konjugasi kata kerja berdasarkan kala, dan penggunaan kata kerja mengikut "kes" (nominatif, akusatif, datif dan genitif). Bentuk seperti ini tidak wujud dalam bahasa Indonesia.

The analysis of the transcripts revealed that there were variations in the feedbacks given among the teachers: some forms of feedback were utilized more frequent than others. These results are important as they provide an awareness of the feedback practices employed in the classroom and the significant effects on classroom interaction and student learning. The results offer implications and suggestions for pedagogica considerations within an ESL setting.

• Humanizing mobile online ESL blended learning model

  the COVID-19 pandemic has given a massive proliferation of technology, particularly in education, redefining language learning from face-to-face (F2F) and off-classroom known as blended learning (BL) to a new kind in online distance learning/education (ODL/E). BL is now a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning. The shift, however impressive it may appear, does not guarantee the effectiveness of the learning process. The gap that leads to the current study is how bibliometrics has shown minimal focus on undergraduates’ acceptance of these changes, especially in English as a Second Language (ESL) learning classes to the newly embraced online BL (OBL) and how humanistic values are important in ESL lessons. Thus the study sets out to understand several issues pertaining to the use of mobile communication devices as a learning tool in ESL MoBL.

  Penulisan ini membincangkan pengaruh Islam, Arab dan Parsi dalam inovasi sistem tulisan Jawi oleh orang Melayu. Perbincangan dimulai dengan mengetengahkan imej tulisan yang pernah digunakan di Alam Melayu sehingga membawa kepada kemunculan tulisan Jawi. Pembuktian tentang kewujudan pengaruh Arab dan Parsi dalam tulisan Jawi dijelaskan menerusi susur galur kedua-dua bahasa tersebut di samping penjelasan berhubung pengaruh agama Islam. Hasil perbincangan ini menunjukkan pengaruh Arab paling dominan dalam inovasi tulisan Jawi kerana sebahagian besar huruf Jawi berasal daripada huruf Arab manakala, pengaruh Parsi telah melahirkan huruf-huruf tambahan bagi menyesuaikan dengan keperluan bahasa Melayu. Di samping itu, penciptaan empat huruf gubalan Melayu menjadi manifestasi kepada kebijaksanaan orang Melayu untuk memenuhi keperluan bahasanya. Kedatangan Islam pula merupakan faktor pencetus dan penolak kepada perkembangan tulisan Jawi kerana tulisan ini dikaitkan sebagai tulisan agama.

Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa masyarakat bahasa Che Wong masih cenderung menggunakan bahasa mereka dalam berinteraksi walaupun bahasa Melayu merupakan bahasa pengantar antara mereka dengan masyarakat setempat.   C hinese society in Kelantan is generally understood in terms of a division between town/urban Chinese and village/rural rural Chinese. This understanding of the most salient division among local Chinese differs from those that obtain elsewhere in Malaysia. In the country's other states, division by speech-group—into Hokkien, Hakka, Cantonese, Teochiu, Hokchia, and Hainanese, and others is emphasized. This division is taken to give structure to Chinese society in those states. At the heart of the contrasting pattern in Kelantan are the state's rural or village Chinese; members of this latter group are frequently labeled “Peranakan Chinese." ¹ The distinct identity of the Peranakan Chinese of Kelantan derives from more than their mere residence in rural parts of the state rather than in its towns. Their identity embodies an ethnic division that in turn reflects lengthy and complex patterns of Chinese settlement in the state. 2 Historically, the Peranakan Chinese have become extensively assimilated into Kelantan's rural Malay and Thai or Siamese communities, both culturally and linguistically. Marriages between Chinese males and Thai women some two hundred years ago in Patani and Kelantan marked the beginning of the Peranakan Chinese society of Kelantan. In contrast, the group's language shows massive Malay lexical and grammatical borrowing but Thai influence limited to lexical borrowing. The Malay influence is so extensive that it is a constitutive part of the language.
