Dublin Core
Title
The world's smallest mammal is the bumblebee bat
Description
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the bumblebee bat — also known as Kitti's hog-nosed bat — weighs 1.42 to 1.98 gm and has a head-to-body length of 2.89 to 3.28cm and a wingspan of 12.9 to 14.4cm. To see this little bat, you must go to one of a few limestone caves on the Khwae Noi River in Kanchanaburi Province, southwest Thailand. They are some of Earth's smallest species that play an important part in the ecology.
