Aspek-aspek utama yang diteliti dalam kajian morfologi bagi bahasa yang dituturkan oleh masyarakat Bajau Laut tersebut ialah pembentukan kata selapis, nasalisasi, pengimbuhan,dan penggandaan. Untuk menjelaskan lebih jelas lagi berkenaan morfologi bahasa tersebut. Kajian ini cuba membandingkannya dengan bahasa Melayu standard ketika melakukan analisis data. Dalam analisis juga dihuraikan berkenaan penggolongan kata yang diterbitkan hasil daripada proses-proses morfologi tersebut. Hasilnya mendapati bahawa terdapatnya satu proses yang kompleks dalam morfologi bahasa Bajau Laut ini, tetapi hampir mempunyai persamaan dengan kebanyakan bahasa-bahasa Austronesia yang lain.
