Abstrak

This thesis is a case study of rural-urban migration for investigating the problems faced by women factory workers in the electronics industry in Selangor. It specifically examines the economic, social and psychological aspects of these workers' life style in the city be it at work or after Work. The collection of information for this study involves among other things the conduct of a survey, interviews with the women workers, meeting with personnel officers in the electronic companies and officers in government bodies. The inf ormation gather ed was analysed to identify the problem areas - Economic, Social and Psycholog ical - as faced by these workers. The recommendations as put forward, would require the involvement of relatives in the village, as well as thne government. It is also suggested that the Workers themselves set up an orgnisation to cultivate independence and cohesiveness. It is hoped that these recommendations will be considered and ultimately be implemented.
