  Abstrak
  Kajian ini ialah satu kajian perbandingan sintaksis di antara bahasa Tagalog dan bahasa Melayu dengan menggunakan pendekatan Minimalist atau Minimalist Program (MP). Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melihat persamaan dan perbezaan di antara kedua-dua dengan menggunakan pendekatan tersebut. Malah kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk menguji penggunaan Minimalist Program di dalam bahasa Tagalog dan bahasa Melayu, di samping menghuraikan persamaan dan perbezaan unsur-unsur sintaksis di dalam kedua-dua bahasa. Seterusnya kajian ini juga berusaha untuk mengenal pasti struktur sintaksis yang umum di antara bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Tagalog.
  Kajian perbandingan antara bahsa-bahsa Tagalog dan Melayu, kususnya berkenaan sintaksis agak kurang dilakukan. Terdapat beberapa kajian yang telah dilakukan. Namun tumpuan adalah pada analisis fonologi, morfologi dan leksikal. Kajian akan membandingkan bahasa Melayu dan Tagalog, bukan dari pendekatan sejawi, sebaliknya melalui pendekatan secara sinkronik. Walaupun kebanyakan kajian yang dilaku terhadap bahasa ini menggunakan pendekatan sinkronik, namun rata-rata adalah bersifat deskriptif. Oleh itu, kajian ini tidak akan menggunakan analisis tradisional, sebaliknya secara perbandingan akan menggunakan pendekatan generatif.

  In July 1815, Tunku Syed Hussein became involved in a power struggle in Acah when local chieftains invited him to take the throne. Instead, he chose to install his young son, Syed Abdullah, as sultan. Altough briefly crowned, this decision led to prolonged conflict over the Acehnese throne, disrupting regional trade and draining Syed Hussein's resources.
