  Between Sun-Tzu and Clausewitz : Asia and American Wars

  This paper examine the strategic ideas of Sun Tzu and Clausewitz and find out their works that have influenced the Asia-American wars that have occurred in Asia since the end of WWII.
  
  Sun Tzu was a famous military scientist and the one of the ablest commanders in ancient China. He wrote a book "The Art of War" which is now among the most thoughtful and comprehensive book on the strategies of war.
  
  Since 1945, there were three Asia-American wars namely the Korean War, the Vietnam War and Gulf War where the United Nations forces applied superior strength and advanced military technology. Korean War, in which the forces if the United Nations and of the Republic of Korean fought against that the Korean and Chinese communists who were aided by the Soviet Union, Vietnam War, The United States and some 40 other countries supporting Vietnam by supplying troops and munitors.
