Dutch records from Malacca, dating from 1685 to 1835, are preserved in the India Office Records at the British Library in London. These documents, transferred from Malacca in 1927, include materials from the Orphan Chamber and the Council of Justice, offering insights into the Dutch colonial administration in the region. Originally thought lost, the collection was reorganized in 1981 and now comprises approximately 900 volumes, cataloged under reference R/9. These records are valuable for understanding the legal and social history of Malacca during Dutch rule.
