Abstrak
Ilmu filologi merupakan salah satu kaedah ilmu dalam mengkaji manuskrip atau naskhah untuk ditransliterasi dan diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa masyarakat sezamannya sebagai rujukan masyarakat dan untuk dijadikan panduan kepada pengkajian yang akan datang. Manuskrip melayu merupakan hasil tinggalan ketamadunan masyarakat terdahulu yang merakamkan ilmu-ilmu yang mereka pelajari pada zamannya. Namun, keilmuan yang terakam di dalam manuskrip ini tidak digiatkan oleh kita untuk digunakan sebagai panduan hidup kini. Penggunaan ilmu filologi dalam kajian ini membolehkan manuskrip Teromba Pagar Ruyung dapat ditransliterasi dan diguna pakai sebagai rujukan oleh masyarakat kini dan menjadi bahan kajian lanjutan kepada manuskrip Teromba Pagar Ruyung itu sendiri.
